Alright, I just started reading Ichi the Killer and I'm up to volume three. So far I have no idea who's supposed to be the protagonist and who's supposed to be the antagonist. Does anyone know, 'cause they both seem just as bad.

I know that, but usually they make one side look like the slightly more righteous side who you should be rooting for. I can't tell which side that is in Ichi.

Everyone is bad, seriously.

There are a lot of seinen manga with only bad people. Because that's how the world is, most people act with selfish intentions, and seinen is supposed to be more realistic.

ichi is with the oldman, the pimp and the boxer, maybe there was somebody else in the team, but in exact terms, he is by himself, since the team is basically only cleaning after he ´s done the job. The other band is the yakuza that has his mouth cut , the brothers and some other guy with a gun (plus more yakuza)

seeing as how the leader guy is aiming to change the way things are in that area
