Hi everyone, I'm new here. I'm a college student who hasn't had much time to read manga in a few years, but recently I've wanted to get back into the shoujo I love. The only catch is, I'm really sick of the dumb, oblivious girls falling for the assholes. Gloomy guy/sweet girl was cute when I was twelve... So does anyone have a recommendations for some gloomy, female leads in shoujo?
I don't mean tomboys, not loud and impulsive, the kind of girls that have their own insecurities or demons. Just a lead that's not as peppy and optimistic as the rest. And PLEASE no douche bag guys. I need some good boys in my life.

I'd suggest trying Annarasumanara, Atashi no Banbi, Orange Marmalade, Satougashi no Dangan wa Uchinukenai and Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun.

"Cold Female Lead" is what I culled these with, I think (hope) it'll at least come close to what you're looking for. And yeah, all complete titles.
