From what I can tell, it is impossible to become a member of this group, and it is impossible to access any of their works.

In my opinion, that means they shouldn't be posted on this site. It confuses readers, and it might lead to other translating groups not working on series that falsely say Harudaki has translated it.

If their few members want to follow Harudaki's releases, then they can periodically visit their site.

In case you didn't know this topic. I don't understand the real reasons, but it seems to me Harudaki holds some power over the site, making them untouchable...

I agree and it is very annoying and frustrating :( It's not just Harudaki, there are other groups which aren't accessible, I think this site should be for publicly available works only

How has this common sense issue not been addressed by now? It's been literal years, what even are site staff doing? 😒

I think it is important though to remember that we don't have the full picture.

It could be that the people behind groups like Harudaki put a lot of work into BakaUpdates and are an important part of what keeps the site running.

Sure, that would not excuse the inconvience to users if they post their releases and refuse to change, but based on how many people repost or steal scanlations and the the entitlement and attitude many readers have, I can see why some groups get fed up and stop caring.

Like, if I were running this site and get a lot of help, then I would also overlook some things the helpers do, even more so if they have an actual reason for doing so.

On the other site, it obviously could also be that the people behind Harudaki are just super toxic and have the skills to seriously mess with the site if you go against them and letting them be is just the more reasonable option.

Just throwing out my two cents since this issue is known and I am sure people would have already acted on it if there isn't a good reason to not do so.

I completely get why a group would be private. I just don't think it's right that their updates are posted here, since they're a small, private group that doesn't accept new members. It discourages other groups from taking on projects because they think that a manga is already being translated, when it's not really. :/

That's upsetting. :( It almost feels like bullying that they're posting their updates on this site and then refuse to accept new members who want to read those manga.
