As we are moving into the modern age, we are fabricated more and more by the media. (are we?)
Question is...do you realize it?
Here is a link to a video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bb7YmNuvbB0&context=C31e395aADOEgsToPDskIYw4OG3hccPj2j1kftPAev

Watch it before commenting. Now...if you think to yourself...actualy, some of it might be true or "I'm not sure".
Then ask yourself if your not societies b^%h/puppet?
Do you have any freewill? If so...why do we all consort to what we see on tv/"tube"? It's the media that controls "free will"!

I believe in letting people do as they wish, as do I myself. Sometimes, of course, what I wish to do is kill them and they do not wish to die. This gives life interest.

I didn't realize it was ranting 😛
i think he is Just asking people to think more about how the media controls their life without them knowing it.

....Better than the..."what did i have for breakfast" topic where people post without real communication.

"In my dream, the world had suffered a terrible disaster. A black haze shut out the sun, and the darkness was alive with the moans and screams of wounded people. Suddenly, a small light glowed. A candle flickered into life, symbol of hope for millions. A single tiny candle, shining in the ugly dark. I laughed and blew it out."

My aim wasn't to rant. I know it sounds crazy...but, just for a minute...think about it.
Think...what you would be without the media. free...perhaps.
If you disagree, just explain why its crazy. XD

I call it crazy because you've presented a disorganized argument questioning both free will and the honesty of the media, both valid questions, but then proceed to tie the concepts together. I offer that what the media chooses to report on has absolutely no bearing on your ability to control your own actions, thoughts, and life. If you choose to believe the media's drivel, that is but another expression of free will.

Now, if we were to approach the questions separately, we may have a constructive discussion in the making. Of course, we would also get nowhere, unless you want to accept consent as a method of proof, because people have been arguing about these questions for a very long time with no universal conclusion as of yet reached.

I would also point out that life without the media doesn't necessarily make you free. There's a reason why dictators often heavily restrict and control the media; an open source of news is apparently a great boon to the cause of freedom. Imagine that.

+1.

We all love conspiracy theories, but the reality is that it's easy to come up with one about anything. I could put together a fairly cohesive argument that reasons society is controlled by a secret legion of botanists who refuse to wear anything but fast food mascot costumes. "The media" isn't some unseen entity carefully plotting our only move, it's just a piece of society that we can choose to ignore if we feel like it. There might be some hidden agendas involved, but there are so very many different hidden agendas that they often end up in conflict with one another.

It's just not something worth worrying about outside a college classroom with a particularly loony professor.

No.

Putting aside you pushing your opinion as facts, we do not allow rant threads, and that is easily what this will become.
