Where did you meet him/her? What happened? What did he/she do? Did this stranger have any impact on your life?

Nicest:
Hm. Well, for me, it happened at work. I used to be a hostess at an Italian restaurant, and this couple walks in. The lady wasn't exactly old, but she wasn't middle-aged... somewhere in there. She let her husband do all the talking, and she just simply smiled... it was a very sweet smile. She smiled at me and the other hostess I was working with. I took the couple to their table, and the husband said thank you, and she looked at me and smiled.
Yup. Nicest lady ever. :3
🙂

Meanest:
...I don't remember. OH! It was when I went through the Starbucks drive-through. I asked the girl (probably college-aged) for something along the lines of, "a small, frozen frappucino with mint and chocolate chips and with the coffee flavoring." ...And I guess she got mad that I didn't know the Starbucks terminology, and she replied something like, "Well, for future references, that's actually called a tall peppermint java chip mocha frappucino. And your total is bla."
She was being sassy with me.
No one. Gets to be sassy with me.
Except my dog.
No one.

:-(

Or, you know, if you wanted to order it again, she was actually telling you what it was. In case you didn't want to seem like an idiot who can't decipher menus.

But hey, if you're cool with that, I'll happily take the place of the meanest stranger you ever met in the place of that arguably helpful barista.

Nicest:
I remember, right before senior year of high school during the summer, doing the only thing I enjoy doing for school. Shopping for school supplies. There was this PERFECT purple binder I really wanted to get, but with everything else, I couldn't afford it and would have to get a cheaper one since my grandma who was on the opposite side of the store probably wouldn't give me any extra cash. I was so sad, and I think I even stood there staring at it for a while.

And then suddenly, this old woman with her grandson came over to me and said:
"I see you've been staring at the binder for a long time. I passed by this aisle 3 times you're still here. laughs Well, I always find it good when students come so early in the summer already buying supplies. I know you'll do well in school"

And you know, I was kind of confused and said thank you and all, though I didn't understand why she told me this so randomly, though I got a little panicked when she started reaching into her purse. My "Mother said strangers do bad random things" thought started ringing in my head, but I got more confused when she pulled out a $20 bill and took my hand and stuffed it in there. Then she said:
"I can trust that you'll use this money like you're supposed too. And I know kids aren't given much allowances these days, so take this and but you that binder okay?"
Of course, myself of almost 2 years ago only nodded dumbly and accepted it in confusion, because NOTHING like that has ever happened. So, after she left, I raced to find my grandma all excited and stuff. I swear, if I could meet that lady again, I would thank her so much. I was able to buy my binder and even a few extra things I needed but decided I would buy later when I did get allowance. Yeah, school supplies, small and insignificant, but it touched me deeply.

If I ever get the opportunity to do something like that, I would. U_U

Meanest:
Uh... as for the meanest. I try to forget such encounters.. but...
There was this boy, in 6th grade and his group apparently didn't like me for some unknown reason. So, one day when the teacher asked me to erase the board. He got up and decided it would be fun to try and trip me. He failed many times before he just had to grab me and pulled me down to the ground with him.. and mind you, he was doing this for NO reason at all. I don't even think I knew his name. Anyway, so we were both on the ground, but by then, he already had me quite pissed off to the point where I elbowed him in the gut and quite swiftly got to my feet, grabbing the nearest huge garbage can about to ram his still cringing on the ground face many time.... but somehow... I found the will to let him just lie there and put the trashcan down safely. I really don't know how I stopped, I swear all I saw was red and wanted to see blood. XD
Influence.... I guess... some people will always be idiots. And spilling their blood just isn't worth it.

But she wasn't polite when she said it. It was more like a stuck-up/I'm-so-much-better-than-you attitude. ._.

...Lol, okay. xD

The most helpful stranger who comes to mind right now - a few years ago, driving to work in the snow, as I was coming down the hill and supposed to make a right turn, I couldn't turn & couldn't stop (road was very very slick) & ended up hitting the street sign. And of course I was stuck & couldn't get the car back on the road, but right away a nice young man with a truck stopped & got me back on the road.

I can't remember a "meanest" stranger - I don't give those people space in my memory, they're not worth it! 🤣

Instead here's another helpful stranger story - a guy who was walking past the bus stop turned around & came back to help a woman with a couple of small kids get her stroller, kids, etc. off the bus safely, then continued on his way. I love my town~~ <3

Edit - the woman with the kids was not me, I only have one small kid...

long post :3

Nicest:
It happened after I got off at work. It was around 9:30pm, and it was really dark and cold. Anyway, that day I was not the happiest person in the world, but yeah, I was simply waiting for my ride to come and pick me up because I no longer have a car. This pretty-looking late-20's woman came up to me and asked me if anything was wrong. I told her I'm okay, and that I was simply waiting for my car ride. So then, all of a sudden, she plops herself down and sits next to me, and waited with me! She said it wasn't safe for a young girl like me to be alone at this time, and started a conversation about the city, and how she came from Washington and is a tourist here in Cali. She was so nice, bubbly, and smiley, and cheered me up a lot. When my car ride finally came, she said she was glad that nothing happened to me during the time I was waiting. (We waited for around 25 minutes in the cold.) Then, we parted with a handshake and smile. She was a really friendly person! I can't believe a stranger would wait with me. Even my own co-workers don't do that for me >__>. I'm so glad generous people exist. I never got her name, but I'd love to meet her again.

Meanest:
Hrm, I can't think of that many situations... but there was this one time where this narcissistic 40-ish old man cussed me out. It was because I was waiting at the bus stop on my way to work, and the man stood in front of me (around 5 feet away), and started looking in the mirror and fixing his comb-over. Through his mirror, he caught me looking at him, so he turns around and says, "Aye you got a problem?!" and started saying all this crap about how he knows how "people like me" are looking at him differently. He also accused me of judging him just because he likes to look at himself... That man was really fidgety and strange. I tried my best to get out of that weird situation but he kept inching his face closer and closer, and kept saying that I'm a bitch. O_O; He said something about "The Beauty of Comb-overs" and yeah.. I tried my best to keep a straight face... But it was incredibly random! I didn't even say anything to him at all... (I didn't really get a chance to speak...) But well, something was definitely wrong with him. When he got on the bus, he started looking in the mirror, and whoever looked at him, he would snap at them right away.. Then he started yelling in the bus about how everyone is a bitch. LOL >_>

i was trying to get a seat on a crowded bus and the bus was extremely crowded. when a middle aged lady offered the seat next to her. she also reminded me to put on a surgical mask because AHINI was rampant during those times. And she even offered me a mask. 😀 she treated me like her kid the entire trip! when i opened my box of donuts and i couldn't tie the ribbon of the box. she did it for me! She also offered me some snacks! she was such a nice lady!

meanest:
i was walking inside our univ. campus one afternoon, i was all alone and on the way i met a large group of guys. i really don't know if they were former students or outsiders. they were harassing a girl and when they saw me, their attention turned to me! and they started harassing me! they started asking me if i wanted to go out for afternoon snacks, i declined. but they insisted. then one of the guys said, "c'mon let's just rape this girl!" I nearly peed my pants. i ran. thank god, they didn't run after me and that they were headed the opposite direction! it was horrible!

I met nicest and meanest stranger at once while i was on holiday at Perth
While I sat on the bench (i was waiting for a bus that time, alone), suddenly a weird man with long hair, tattoo, dark skin, that i thought must be an aborigin, ask me "What time is it?" then i replied "it's half past two", suddenly he got angry and shout "YOU MUST BE LYING! WHAT TIME IS IT ANSWER ME! YOU UGLY LIL GIRL!" i was shocked and couldnt say anything, then that person became more and more horrible, i was so scarred that can feel that i was gonna cry, he was shouting i my ears and going to grap me but it stopped by a man in black coat.
That man told him to leave me alone, at first the aborigin guy wouldnt listen to him, but then the man threaten him and push the aborigin guy away, i thought the aborigin guy felt that the man stronger than him, then he leaved without a word,
that my black coat prince gave me his handkerchief, and ask me "where you come from? what are you doing here alone? where is ur place to stay?" i answered with a low and tremble voice, i said that i was on a holiday and took a walk alone and going to back to hotel.
then he looked for taxi for me then said that i have to take taxi for safety purpose, and whenever i met that kind of guy, i have to stay away, never ever accept or give them anything, and it will be better if i never walk alone again.
i just nodded at him and got in the taxi, still in afraid and thrill pace.
when i arrived at the hotel, the driver told me that the man has already paid for me, and i just realize that i haven't thanking him for saving me....

oh god lord... please give me a chance to meet him again, giving him back his handkerchief, and thanking him.... (I still keep that handkerchief 😀 )

The nicest stranger I've ever met told me that I was beautiful.

Two months ago, said stranger & I ended up sharing a table for breakfast. It was awkward. REALLY awkward. I tried to smile and act friendly, but he just stared at me, listening to his music, chomping away on cereal, so I just gave up on doing anything. Eventually, he just left, to my relief, or so I thought.....He came back to me and with the most serious face, told me "I just wanted to say that you're quite beautiful." And left.

To my surprise(and his), we shared two classes. Hah he was definitely not expecting to see me ever again....

I also do not remember the meanest stranger. I remember meeting a couple of dicks in my life, though. But as my favorite quote goes, "Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults."

Nicest:
Eh... I'm not sure.
Maybe the guy who gave my 2 golden fish in a bag?

In Between/sleazy:
My short time stalkers/harassers.
Men who tried to hit on me/take advantage using nice words,
but usually just ended up scaring the shit out of me.
I guess I was flattered to an extent, but mostly scared for my safety.
🤣

Meanest:
Not so sure, to be honest.
I've had many people I know be mean to me, but complete strangers?
There was the thing on the bus... But it was quite unpleasant... I won't share.
Actually, there was a number of things involving buses.
Boy, I really can't catch a break with them buses...

the nicest STRANGER would be...
hmm.. this teenager girl who came up to me when I was in 3rd grade and gave me all her tokens (I was in an arcade). She smiled and said "your so cute, so I'm giving you these" and she left with her friends..it was nice and strange at the same time...oh oh..when some guy gave me money randomly

the meanest..well I would say the scariest would be
when I was walking in the store (4th grade) when a woman attacked me... 😐
when some kid I never talked to kept yanking on my ponytail and man did it hurt. I thought i was gonna go bald, yet I couldn't do anything cause i was stuck in a crowd of loud moving people

The nicest
I was reading on a bench near Moscow State University and this Ossetian guy from a next bench approached. He was reading Confucius and asked to help him with words' meanings (in this kind of literature they stylize the language so it's nowhere near your common speech).
We had a long nice conversation. Also about his culture and how it's wrong to mix it with Russian culture.
More important he really didn't intend to talk that much as he didn't took his bag from his bench.

The meanest
This old lady got me at the park. She started with a "where's drug store" type of question and then began to tell me my fortune. Talked a lot (obviously made-up stuff). At the end asked money for it. No way I'm going to take out my wallet. I wanted to give food (they usually don't take food) but I didn't have some. So she cursed me.

nicest: probably the "drunk" guy who sat next to me in the bus stop when I was waiting for bus after school. He offered me a drink from the bottle he was holding and started talking about his life and everything that had happened to him and I told about my problems and we had a very long and nice chat until the bus came. He told me that I was a nice girl and wasn't too arrogant or anything like most kids these days. That made me really happy actually. I will probably remember that day the rest of my life. Too bad I have no idea what happened to him after that.

meanest: Probably sum customers when I was working in a library. They can get really mean when they have to pay for the books they've lost or destroyed or just forgot to return on time. lol It's their own fault not mine..so why be mad at me >.> geez...
