Unable to delete own posts

I accidentally (yes, that's possible) double posted once, which I know is not allowed, so I tried to delete one post; to my surprise I could not find any options to delete my post. Then as a last resort I changed the content, but I was still warned for double posting.
Could you please allow users to delete their own posts in order to help avoid situations like this in the future?
Would be rather abusable, like realising one's stupidity
and removing the evidence.

You could've just edited the post indicating it was a mistake...
I'll do that should it ever happen again.
@ Mamsmilk: I'm not stupid, just not very good with computers.
Don't assume that this option would only be available to you.

It also happened to me (I clicked "quote" instead of "edit", silly me), but I just edited the second post and I explained what happened. Accidental double posting doesn't happen often and I don't think it's a big problem - actually, I think it would be worse if deleting posts was possible, people would delete posts that someone already answered, etc.

We're not gonna do this for the reasons stated above
