OP hasn't appealed to me and I haven't read it or watched it YET so since I'm running out of things to read and I want to read something long and exciting, is OP worth the read? I've been reading only positive comments of the series and perhaps I might start reading it now 🙂
So is this story worth my time and won't disappoint me like Bleach did? 😀

It's okay-ish. The beginning that is. But the latest arcs are the best! You just need to have a lot of determination to plow through those chapters. Or if you don't feel like it, just start at the Water Seven arc, and get the characters' info that you didn't know and see at onepiece.wikia.

I liked the series from pretty early. When the story's being set up it's a bit slow but I wouldn't skip it. Everything is completely worth it, it becomes more and more epic as it moves on (unlike Bleach).
I recommend this 100%, it's an amazing series and I wouldn't suggest skipping any of it. I just re-read a couple of my favourite parts today coincidentally 😀

i've liked the series for the longest time. like the previous person said it is a tille slow in the startbut picks up at a reasonable pace. i'd suggest the u start at the sky peia arc. that is right before the water seven arc and u may get to be acquainted with the crew before the crew gets their power up.

if u really want to follow one piece, perhaps it's good idea to watch the anime first. Take a look, whether you will like it or not.
But feel free to watch or read it first.
Well, this one definitely worth than bleach. (personal taste)
when bleach is only good at the beginnng, and lost its passion later. The more you follow One Piece the more you'll get drawn into it.

Bleach isn't even on the same level as OP, and no offense meant to Bleach fans, this is just a personal opinion.

Anyway, I suggest you read everything from the beginning and not start at some arc. There are some things from the beginning chapters that will only be explained later on. It's definitely worth it. Skip some chapters and you'll miss out on some stuff. But it's up to you, earlier scans aren't too good.

well, from the 80-120 episodes i watched i gotta say i dont like it, i mean it has its moments but all in all i dont recomend it unless you can't find something else...but maybe it gets better after 100-something episodes but is it worth watching over 100 episodes for an anime to turn good?(sure you can skip episodes but then you miss out on stuff that's important for you to understan the story...or something like that)
i dont think so and that damned one piece has stolen over 40 hour's of my life that i will never get back 🙁

I'm in the same boat, I wanna read OP but its sooo long... but if it starts getting exciting at the water 7 arc, thats 34 vol. in! Thats crazy far in, I don't know what I think about that.

It's a matter of opinion, B.

I started liking it a lot after Nami's arc.

Definitely read it before watching it, I think it's better than the anime because it doesn't have fillers. Reading the chapters will make the anime make more sense, there are some changes for the sake of animating so get a good understanding of the events before you switch to animated.

500+ chapters is nothing, it all depends on how good/fast your sources are. You'll be all caught up in no time since the pacing is pretty straightforward.

If people are saying it only gets better the farther in you go then isn't it worth reading. Look at it this way. Bleach was great in the beginning but its only getting worse the longer it goes, while OP gets better.
