neither will join but what surprised me most was robins role. Robins story and role hasn't been important since CP9 saga. That was surely an interesting revelation. after thriller back i seriously thought Oda was starting to close loose ends but with the way things are going i can some what say one piece is more likely just 1/3 of the way.

Hopefully Oda can focus and not create plot holes. soo much for his 10 year plan. lol

I don't think it's a matter of Shirahoshi joining the crew. It's more like she's going to be a heavy part of the story later. Robin's story never ended as did the rest of the crew we're going to see a lot of surprise talk of the void century. Especially since the WG fears it just as much as Roger..... Plus Iwonder how many weapons were there in the Void Century, does it tie in with the Devil Fruits? Did Roger have any idea about the Void Century, is that why WG wanted him and his bloodline eliminated so badly? And does it also hold an answer to what the D is for? It's a lot of questions, I know, but the chapter made me wonder all of that.

yea, i don't think Shirahoshi will join the crew. instead, i think that the straw hats will have the duty to protect her or something (perhaps "take control" of fishman island like whitebeard did). say that she did join the crew, there would be too much risk bringing her along. for example, it would be easier for the WG to find out that she is poseidon and all this shit would go down.
my guess is that the straw hats leave fishman island with no new members (discounting jinbe), find a new crew mate (probably a girl) in the next arc (maybe on that lightning island!), and (i hope) gain the support of the sea kings. shirahoshi will probably stay on fish man island with the royal family similar to vivi.

I was sought of worry, that Jinbe didn't follow the particular patterns that the strawhats had so far. But who know his "situation" could fleshed out his dreams like the rest of the crew.

Interesting development at the end. Who knew that Poseidon would turned out to be a mermaid?

Anyway, I doubt that Shirahoshi will join the Straw Hats anytime soon (and if Luffy does recruit another member, it would have to be somewhere in the New World).

I mean, that would be a hell of a weapon--not only would you have an army of sea kings, but you would have a ship big enough to carry a whole other army as well. I could understand why Poseidon would be an "ultimate weapon" then

yeah maybe that is something that will happen when the straw hats are long gone
maybe something that happens because they helped the straw hats so that would make it "their" fault somehow...
it could be that just a chain of events started and we just dont know it yet
like back then with the fight of ace and blackbeard who would have guessed that it would lead to an all out war between pirats and marines on the marine HQ...

Let's not. I can see where you're coming from with the vision and Caribou not being mentioned at all... Oda doesn't keep loose ends. But that would suck.
