I'm tired of the usual troop of the father not being around to raise his son or him just being a idiot for gags,while the MC is some weak kid with no real personality.

I'm more interested in a realistic father and son themed story, where for one reason or another (dead mom, move to another world, fight in the past, ect.) the two don't really function all that well as a family in the beginning but over time become closer and start to understand that neither is perfect and they need each other

Chichi Kogusa (though the son is a child, so it's more of a child-raising manga)

Sheriff Evans' Lies also has some of this (every chapter has Evans recalling a piece of wisdom from his dad), though as Evans is an adult, his father is physically absent for most of the manga.
