Quote from Slagathor

they only way to get me to see any merit at all in the lyrics of a song is to put a story behind it.

Listen to Country Music and Blues.

Quote from Nada Surf

They say you have to have somebody
They say you have to be someone's
They say if you’re not lonely alone, boy there is something wrong

You say, 'But I like what you say,
I like what you say'
You say, 'But I like what you say,
I like what you say'

I think I'm getting introspective...

I love hymns. Not because of the lyrics, explicitly, but because of they way they are sung. Spirituals more so.

I am gonna second this. I love singing hymns and such and I don't have a religion.

I got a notion but the notion is wrong.
I got an idea but the idea has gone.
I got a message but my message is wrong.
Can't keep my eyes from the dying sun.

Hooray!!, I say for the end of the world.
Hooray!!, I say for the end of it all.

Hurry-on, madness.
Hurry-on, disease.
Hurry-on, insanity.
Hurray-on, please...
Hurry-on, the bomb.
Hurry-on, the plague.
Hurry-on, disaster.
Hurry-on, the rage.

Clean the slate.
Turn the page.
The final breath of the final age.

Don't wonder. Don't fear.
Peace at last will be here.

Hooray!!, I say for the end of the world.
Hooray!!, I say for the end of it all.

Hurry-on, the void.
Hurry-on, the end.
Hurry-on, abyss.
Hurry-on, my friend.

The final day, the final chore.
The age of shopping no more.
All the hassle, all the sweat.
All the boredom, all the mess.

Hooray!!, I say for the end of the world.
Hooray!!, I say for the end of it all.

Little Weapon by Lupe Fiasco... The lyrics just hit me in the face with so many things with today's culture.

Quote from andshesaysiLY

american pie - don mclean

My childhood right there. I used to know all the words, I don't think I could remember them now.

Drink up, baby, look at the stars
I'll kiss you again between the bars
Where I'm seeing you there with your hands in the air
Waiting to finally be caught
Drink up one more time and I'll make you mine
Keep you apart, deep in my heart
Separate from the rest, where I like you the best
And keep the things you forgot

Since then it's been a book you read in reverse
you understand less as the pages turn
or a movie so crass
and awkardly cast
that even I could be the star.

I don't look back much as a rule
and all this way before murder was cool
but your memory is here and I'd like it to stay
warm light on a winters day.

Over the ramparts you tossed
the scent of your skin and some foreign flowers
tied to a brick
sweet as a song
the years have seemed short but the days go slowly by
two loose kites falling from the sky
drawn to the ground and an end to flight.

I Want it All -Queen
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfLD-7bCtME

It ain't much I'm asking, I heard him say
Gotta find me a future move out of my way

A simple and direct message that encapsulates everything I want to say in three coherent sentences that I fumble over with speeches longer than Webster's dictionary. 🤣

LOL i happened to come across this song, even though the MV sucks, the lyrics is wonderfully hilarious...they spoke GREAT volume to me, though they don't have anything to do with my situation 🤣

eamon - fuck it(i don't want you back)

Fuck what I said it dont mean shit now
Fuck the presents might as well throw em out
Fuck all those kisses they didn't mean jack
Fuck you, you hoe, I dont want you back

rofl

i don't have any meaningful songs in my head right now 😳
