Nabari is not Shonen-Ai so please stop edit the genre of this manga. Enix do not publish Shonen Ai mangas . But this manga have some Ai undertones! 😀

Haven't read it. But it doesn't seem to even have shounen-ai in the genre now.

That's because LastExile is an updater too
if you bothered to click on his profile. 😛

He just said that people shouldn't stop labeling it Shounen-ai.
Maybe an admin should come and take care of it.

But this manga have some Ai undertones! 😀

I haven't read this manga but hear the "shooouuunen-aaiiii!"-screams allover the net >.>;

Shounen-Ai as a genre (not demographic by mag) and in it's light form, shows that there's a official hint to a deeper male relationship (not the slash in Shounen like Naruto or Reborn). That can be implied and does not necessary mean that the characters express it in an explicit way, meaning: a boys love undertone.

I don't ask you to add it back if you're so against it but keep in mind that a "obvious undertone" already counts as Shounen-Ai. A not to little part of Shounen-Ai manga out there doesn't even have the characters touch each other, that's very normal for this genre indication.

It's not shounen-ai?? Then i have to say... it really tricked me.
I stopped reading this manga because there were parts that looked like yaoi... the only thing left for it to be yaoi was that they never actually kissed...

As for the topic, i have to completly disagree. It's definitely shonen ai.

It's definitely not yaoi, and the shounen ai is incredibly light. I think the tag mostly just turns off potential readers, since the theme is mostly just for jokes within the manga.

Shone Ai was underage boys? Not underage gay boys.

I have to agree with x0mbiec0rp the only shounen ai I have seen in it is for the purpose of jokes certainly not enough to call for a tag.

I thought shounen ai ment boy love or something similar.

Shounen means Boy.
Ai means* Love*.
Thus means Boy-Love, just right under Yaoi.

I liked Nabari no Ou, still do I guess. The whole Yahiro/Miharu fluffiness just wasn't my cup of tea is all. But I don't think it's to the point that it's actually Boy-Love, perhaps just affections for the poor, poor souls of theirs. It's the Yahiro/Miharu shippers that we have to worry about.

it's arguable that it could be classified as shounen-ai (obviously). i would say that there are some shounen-ai components in Nabari no Ou, but it isn't hardcore, and certainly not yaoi. just my opinion. 😃

I am an avid hater of shounen ai and yaoi and the anime - didnt read the manga sometimes gives some undertones which might be ignorable by people who read shounen-ai/yaoi. But that is just my opinion, I am cool to say this isnt full fledged shounen-ai but guys rarely do have such odd friendship, ever watched my best friend's gay wedding?

First of all... since when did i say it was yaoi? I just said that it would be yaoi if they kissed. that's all. and i still think it's shonen ai cause there are times that you can almost feel they are going to get involved in a romantic way.

And as for a user who said it wasn't hardcore and so it shouldn't be shonen ai, i have to say one thing. If you have a manga that has some adult content but isn't hardcore you wouldn't tag it as adult despite having some adult content? I don't think so.

I think you should have rules for tagging a series. If it has some shounen ai in it (and it doesn't have to be hardcore) it should be tagged accordingly (as shonen ai). This is an objective way of giving tags to the show. If you wan't to discuss if the show has more or less shonen ai elements it doesn't matter because thay are there, even if those elements aren't all over the manga.

Now when you say that it shouldn't be shonen ai because it has some shonen ai elements but isn't hardcore... you're just being subjective and you shouldn't give tags based on subjective thoughts.

And let me repeat. I never said it was yaoi... i just said that it was almost yaoi given the scenes where they almost kissed each other...

But maybe you're subjective opinion is wrong?
Everyone interprets character relationships differently.

I never read the manga, but I trust corp's statements. 😮

I admit I haven't read any Shounen-Ai other than Rivers Edge and that didn't have much either but from my understanding...

Shounen-Ai = boys in love
Yaoi = boys in love doing more than just kissing 🤢 similar to Shoujo smut...

Now I don't see any boys in love in this manga... The main characters teases the teacher but their is no actual feelings between them...

I think the simplest is to ask the people who actually read BL and Yaoi... NightSwan and other BL fans, read this and see what yas think =P
