I always hoped that Sakura would become a character with some sense but ever since the Sasori fight I'm losing faith, c'mon Sakura show us what Tsunade taught you!!

I agree; it would be a shock if something like this didn't happen. (But the Sai thing would be scary...) Well, maybe this will finally help Sakura get her head out of her @ss about Sasuke if she sees how he treated Karin.

You know, I'm REALLY glad Danzou is finally out of the way; he was a bastard and a freak, but at the same time, he was the closest thing we've seen to a decent villain in Naruto in a long time. I liked how he had secret connections to most of the other major villains in the series and had done a bunch of stuff over a long period of time that we could dislike him for. In other words, he actually came across as a major player. Even better, there seemed to be some sort of understandable reasoning behind the things he was doing. And then they had to mess up his bad guy status by giving him a nice-nice death scene flashback. (Which, by the way, didn't at all explain why Danzou turned into a ruthless freak.) WTF. He was a bastard, so let him go out as a bastard. Or do they plan on pulling an Itachi with him and revealing he was an awesome guy all along, so Sasuke, shouldn't you feel even more emo and regretful than you already do for having killed yet another "innocent" person?

It was kind of pointless for Danzo to die though, wasn't it?
Besides Madara getting an eye out of this whole thing and Sasuke more unexplained powers...

If anyone should've killed Danzo, it should've been Naruto. No really, I just can't think of a good reason for Danzo's death (other than tying up loose ends as the story's climax approaches).

Now there's no internal struggle and Konoha is as good as Kakashi/Naruto's... Unless the other 2 elders prove to be strong. Most likely Kakashi/Naruto will end up fighting to protect the geezers just because they are part of Konoha.

Looks to me the story is devolving into clearly defined good vs evil.

No, we saw the Third Hokage die. Remember, during Orochimaru's attack on Konoha, the Third Hokage used that jutsu to try and kill Orochimaru, but was only able to disable his arms. As a result of using that jutsu (the same jutsu Naruto's father used to seal the Nine Tails), he died. So, we did see the Third Hokage die. And who were you talking about that died and came back? The people of Konoha? Yea, I know about that. I said Nagato revived them. Either way, I think the amount of death in the series is good. I thought all those deaths in Konoha was excessive, so I was glad they made Nagato revive them.

Yeah, Sasuke had good reason to want Danzou dead, but it would've been pretty interesting if Naruto had been the one do it instead. If Kishimoto really wants Naruto to become Hokage, then defeating Danzou would've been a good step in that direction since it'd be like Naruto was proving his vision for Konoha is more powerful than Danzou's. (Which is what a political leader ultimately needs to do.)

Yeah, the story "devolving into clearly defined good vs evil" is a good way to put it. It's like, once again Konoha is the village of nice ninjas who can do no wrong. (The other two elders have barely done anything so far, so they seem like lame duck bad guys to me.) I dunno, it's pretty disappointing how Kishimoto tries to get rid of moral ambiguity whenever he finds it. Danzou was a guy who did very bad things despite having good intentions, and I don't think Kishimoto really knew what to do with that. Instead, in this manga, bad guys are bad, until they have flashbacks and turn into good guys.

Gaara was a psychopath, but a few nice words from Naruto (and a flashback with his uncle) and suddenly the urge to kill is gone and he's pals with everybody? Good guy Sasuke walks away from Konoha and turns into a robot-like villain? He's a bad guy now, so here you go, let's have him act like a bad guy! What an interesting character he could have been if Kishimoto had made him just a little more aware of the consequences of his actions. Like maybe if Sasuke knew he had an unhealthy obsession for revenge, even hated himself for it, but like an addict, couldn't stop himself from pursuing his goals. He'd still be a bastard, but maybe we'd empathize with him a little. (And Naruto wouldn't look as stupid as he does now for wanting to help him.)

Oh well, Naruto is what it is.

Danzo dead is a good news, but sasuke attacking Konoha is a bad news!!!!!
