This week's poll was suggested by hkanz. There's a type of series where the main concept is a relationship between a teacher and a student. You ever encounter that in real life? Or it's just a fantasy?

You can submit poll ideas here
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=3903

Question: If you could live in a manga, what genre would it take place in?
Choices:
Action - votes: 38 (1.2%)
Adventure - votes: 188 (6%)
Comedy - votes: 168 (5.4%)
Drama - votes: 13 (0.4%)

Omg this reminds me of a scandal that happened in my high school a year after I left. One of the history teachers was kinda young.. mid 20s and the high school senior like hit on him by forcing a kiss on him. He was legit married too. I think he quit and moved schools after that incident. He was one of the popular teacher cause of his teaching style. only know about it cause a junior friend of mine told me what went down. Wild

We had a similar thing, except the teacher was like mid-30s lady and the student was an 18 yr old guy. Really creepy -- she lost her license obviously because, uh, more than kissing went on. She ended up marrying a former student from her previous school (from 10 yrs ago when she first graduated), too. 🤨 A real predatory lady.

I never understood "liking" a teacher, but I thought 30 was old then. Some of my classmates did though, especially the boys in my 8th grade science class. That teacher was really pretty.

Nope, I remember finding one of my teacher beautiful, but that was when I was like 7-8 years. Other than that I can't remember having any feeling for other professor.

No, but there was a young-looking, attractive science teacher that graffiti on the bathroom stalls made suggestions about.

Actually, more notably was an unattractive substitute teacher we (across several schools) called the bird lady. Aside from the color of her hair, think the teacher from Jimmy Neutron (voice, nose, temperament, kind of scrawny....) She liked to treat everyone like they were 5, which didn't help her reputation or how students treated her.

I think it's inevitable that you'll end up having a crush on a teacher. The young ones tend to be the nicest ones. But that's all it is a harmless crush that should never be acted on. It's like having a crush on a fictional character. It's never going to happen.

I'm surprised 2/3 said nope. It's almost a rite of passage to crush on a teacher.

I had a crush on my 10th grade world history teacher. He was pretty young, 26 or 27 I think, with piercing blue eyes, so a lot of girls liked him... or at least thought he was cute. He used to be in an aspiring R&B/pop boy band in the 90s, so when he performed at the school's talent show, everyone was going crazy over it. I seriously had dreams about him on all the days I had his class, it was ridiculous! It's so embarrassing to think about it now. Seventeen years later, my sister (who also had a crush on him) saw him at the store she works at and she said he had gotten "thicker" because of age. 😆

No. I’m with midlife_otaku where even the young ones just seemed old 🙈 I never heard in elementary/high school about anyone else having a crush on a teacher either, though I did hear about a uni student here who married her professor.
