I didn't read very far into this one (I'm not sure many chapters existed at the time) so my memory is kind of foggy. I apologize in advance.

What I do remember was the MC was a little younger, I think he lives in a smallish village? People get markings on their bodies (I don't remember if it's just the face) and I think they gave you powers? Anyway, the MC goes hunting or something with an older male character and falls off a cliff into a river. He washes up on this rocky beach where theres a huge tree. I remember there being a deer or something, but I might me misremembering that. Anyway, I'm pretty sure the tree gives him these powers and he gets red markings all over his face.
