How similar do you think the old movie is with the manga?

The basic of both is a hero school, the world view of superpowers and heroes X villain is similar.

So what do you think. I just wached again this old movie and couldn't avoid the comparision.

Similar, but totally different approach. The original X-men comic from 1963 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby has teenage superheroes in a private school setting. This may have been the start of this sub-genre but DC´s Legion of Super-Heroes began in 1958 and has a close enough idea: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legion_of_Super-Heroes
