Well recently, during the nights, I'm usually giving one of my 5 pillows on my a bed a crushing hug. So I have been thinking of buying a dakimakura <.< but im broke and you know, it's like $90 for a cover and $100 for the pillow and cover... and I do want the cover for it. Also I wanted to ask where you bought it if you have one.... I was planning on buying like 4 when I get a job again and go to Japan.

Quote from wikipedia

A dakimakura is a kind of large pillow from Japan. The name means "hugging pillow"; they are similar in shape to body pillows in the west.

Some Dakimakura are imprinted with a picture, usually a young woman in the anime style. Sometimes anime or bishōjo game magazines give dakimakura covers away as promotional materials. Some of these printed dakimakura can be considered love pillows.

i don't own one

I have a body pillow (no funky/anime covers, just plain cotton 🤣 ).

It was great for getting comfortable for sleeping while I was pregnant (and for nursing my babies), so I can confirm that they can be nice things to have. I haven't used mine for years, though.

I used to have a plain body pillow, but it was lost during a move a few years ago. They're comfortable and don't generate heat like women. And if you think women are cheaper... well you're wrong.

I never thought vinyl was that comfortable. To each his own, I guess.
