Lol, I don't know about that. I think China's ethnic race Han has been mixed for centuries and centuries. Chances are most Han are already mixed a bit, even if they did migrate to another country within the last 200 or 300 years or so. 5000 years is a long time for cultural mixing. 😀 unless it's one of those groups that doesn't allow marriage outside of their ethnic groups....

My grandpop migrate at the last emperor (Qing dynasty), and my family doesn't allow marriage outside of Chinese ppl, my mom still have very Traditional brain, same with my father. that make them kind of outdated. They have many "praying" thing to do every month, like praying for our ancestor or just praying for god. burning paper money or incense etc. 😮
Since I'm at mainland now, I felt like my family is more traditional than mainland Chinese, well maybe coz mainland can only have one child. it change many of Chinese traditional, IDK about southern Chinese family, coz here at Beijing they don't do any praying with burning incense anymore. 😕
well burning incense is a part of Chinese culture (I think), Beijing still have some ppl burning incense at some temple, but outside of it I don't see ppl burn it at their own house. 😕

lol, good question. You can maybe just ask your relatives. Or get some old photos and see if there's any clothing resemblance.

From what I can tell, most northern Chinese were never too into the whole ancestor/God worships rituals. Only in the south is this practice a lot, even in their own homes.

I don't think they're old enough to remember the Manchu Dynasty. I think it's a shame that native speakers of Manchu language are almost extinct (though Xibe is pretty close).

I heard China is offering a lot of language schools just to teach Manchurians. And from the news, it's reported that they received double the number of applicants they were expecting to apply! That's a good thing!

It looks like an inevitable thing though, it might stay within the history lines but there is no longer a specific place of origin for lots of people. Most of the people in the world right now are general mix of many things, they just generalize where about they are from usually...

Specific families is quite a well defined origin right?

lol really? my Han Chinese friend told me his grandparents have a book that records everyone in a giant family tree as far as 6 or 7 hundred years ago! 😲

i dont think i am chinese but i get mistaken for chinese all the time and before you say white ppl cant tell all asians look the same the ppl that think i am chinese are actual chinese. plus i heard this story that my family about 6 generations back on my mom's side were chinese. fyi i am viet but look chinese, two bros one looks korean and the other is japanese....go figure maybe we're adopted
