I would feel nostolgic if naruto ended, seeing as how long I have been reading it. But this is just ridiculas. Nothing has happened in the last 20 or so chapters!

Well, I actually consider all of that to be nothing more than building blocks, and not really much plot.

The only actual plot point that has moved forward in a while is the hacked up way he took control of the 9 tails energy. Otherwise, just a lot of building and mundane stuff. The revelations that the 600000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 clones were formed from the tailed monsters energy (horribly draining it, not that it matters because it will probably grow back...) and the whole thing with Kabuto.. just building blocks, not actual progression. At least so I view it.

The way I see it, we have 3 major boss battles left: Kabuto, Madara, and Sasuke. I'm confident this story can be drawn out for well over another year or two.

As for plot progression, Naruto mastering Nine-Tails was definitely a step forward. Still, I have a question:

Naruto knows about the Ninja War being declared. Why is it that he was tricked into thinking that he was on a secret mission?

I guess so he won't interfere and get his butt captured. Kishi really should reconsider some of these chapters. Plotholes are hard to fill in.

I agree. Madara might take his sweet time to tell Yamato some stuff, and then extract info from him. I see the next chapter being about this. After that, we cut to Naruto in Turtle island and the battle preparations. The week after, we have the focus shifting back to Madara extracting info. At the end, Naruto is taken away from the Turtle Island and moved back to Konoha. So in 3 weeks, we might have the beginning of the war.

I had thought that they told him it was a secret S-rank mission, and Naruto took it so seriously that the war just flew over his mind. That way, he forgot about the war, and preparations could actually be made.
