Is black lagoon an on-going series or is it completed?

According to ANN the last volume that was released was in early 2006 but according to previous releases it takes up to 8-12 months for the next volume release.

Also does anyone know how many episodes Black Lagoon: The second barrage will be?

The manga is ongoing, the 6th volume was released just a couple of weeks ago.

And the second season has 12 episodes, rounding up the whole series at 24 episodes.

any news of a third season? It's a show that I like and it's storylines are far from over.

I dont think we'll see a third season any time soon. The storylines of the manga have been used up and it'll be a while before there's enough material to warrant more episodes. But I'm afraid by that time they won't be willing to revive this as an anime.
Pity, it really rocks.

I keep praying for a third season, of the anime. I think thtas what ppl are talking about. I have been kind of scaird to read the manga just because i loved the anime so much. im on the verge of caving in and reading it but just cant see it being as good, i mean the anime was one of the most visually apealing i have ever seen and i still have a shadow of a fear the minute i read past the point ive seen and get into new story the third anime season will come out. However i am also sick of hoping that there will even be a third season. christ Im so confused this whole thing is tearing me apart.

Why would they do a third season the manga get more bloody and nasty it to much for tv.

They'll probably do something about that...
