Is it just me, or does anyone else get the feeling that more shoujo and josei manga are being worked on than shounen and seinen? Then the shounen series that get worked on turn out to be subtextually shounen-ai. Or maybe the thing is that shoujo/josei series that get picked up feel like they're more consistently released.

I'm wondering if it is because there are more females in the scanlation business? It certainly feels like a good chunk of the translators I've worked with in the past have been female.

I'm not complaining, a lot of these series are great, it's more of a curiosity thing.
