His name is a way of writing out a Japanese phrase which means "spreading out like an open fan," which is a double entendre / pun based on a particular type of pose that he is fond of.
His works were translated early on by Eros Comix as "Sexhibition," as well as an OAV based on his works by NuTech Digital ("My Life As a Chicken"). They often "translated" his name as "Gary Suehiro" or "Suehiro Gari" in these early works.
Originally a member of the "Wougiya" (をうぎや) doujin circle, through which he released "8 Miles" and what would later become KAAR, arguably his most popular work. Wougiya appears to be defunct as of this writing. |
