The art is adorable, it gets helluva confusing at some point but it's fine.
As one reviewer said, the fight scenes are surprisingly brutal for the art-style.
It's a princess-ninja romance where we know that there are only three ways for a story with this kind of romance to end:
1) They live HEA(happily ever after), running away or something.
2) They choose to stay together and die like some kind of Romeo-Juliet tragedy.
3) They separate but vow to love each other forever.
Guess what happens.

The third thing happens...which I find did NOT fit this manga. Seriously. Even if it was the more realistic of the three, I really wanted a feel-good fairytale-esque happy ending. It doesn't happen. *sigh*

Walrothetacoking is absolutely right. The series is short in length, but also short in substance and the ending leaves the reader more than a little unsatisfied. However, the cuteness of the main character somehow makes up for these failings enough to make it an enjoyable enough read.
Cute...

Koihime Soushi is short series at just on volume. It really rather lacks any substance. The plot isn't very interesting and the characters aren't very special or well defined.
Koiko sure is cute though. Somehow that makes the series a lot more enjoyable.

The female characters are ridiculously cute looking ( well thats my opinion, just for yourself after seeing the image) but the action is quite brutal, just that you know
