main Character is dumb

The girl is really dumb and makes stupid impulse decisions. i mean she's only like 14 so it's normal for a 14 year old but in the very first pages when

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
She is supposed to move from Japan to the US with her mom and dad, in the middle of the airport right before the flight, she screams out that she wants to 'live with the one she loves' and runs away, ditching her mom, who is like 'wtf come back'. And who is the one she loves? Some random guy she met when she was 8 and hasn't seen since. But she loves him. And she goes and begs his dad to let her live with him. Did I mention that she ditched her mom and dad to live with a strange family, because she's 'in love'?

Also her crush doesn't remember her at all so good luck with that.

I guess it's an average shoujo but the girl is too stupid so if you hate stupid characters then don't read this. The art is nice for an older shoujo though

Sigh...

I really liked this series actually.. But because the male lead just suddenly became a total jerk in later chapters. I lost my interest to continue to read it. It was a really amazing series back then. I feel like Shuhei was playing with her heart while he didn't even realize his true feelings. Like everybody says, love can be hurt sometimes, I feel sorry for Seara. She should have moved on and chosen a better guy.

But I still think this series is not too bad to read. Only the very last few volumes disappointed me.

Mostly good

It doesn't seem cliched, but I can't put it to words. There's definitely something different about this manga, and it isn't annoying. I think it's worth checking out.

At the same time it's hard to root for the character mostly because of how obsessed she comes off. It seems unhealthy and self-destructive for someone so young.

On a lesser note, she can also be quite conniving in a way that it really feels like someone should straighten her out. But the adults hardly interact. It doesn't quite turn the audience against her somehow but I definitely feel like she's not really learning how to behave. The manga somewhat drops that but the fact it never gets dealt with means to me that it's there.

Probably the only shoujo manga where I've felt that the other guy really would be the better pick. The things she's done are just too insane to see rewarded(as weird as that sounds). But also because usually that aggressive guy is a jerk but in this he's probably one of the nicer, down to earth guys. Which isn't to say the main guy is unlikable, so that's a feat.

In generally I agree with what wanpisu says but I still don't feel that seara's behaviour is healthy or that she should be with shuuhei. Then again the guy pushes all the available girls in his life to his friends, what would the end result of that be? He needs to grow up from that, it's lucky someone is as insane as seara for him.

Good enough for me. Telling about a true love, from the female's childhood until she becomes a grown-up.

The characters, I like them. Well, not really for the main guy, Shuhei. I don't understand if he's really innocent and really blind about love (but didn't he use to like Ayano in the past?), but he's the worst since he has broken a girl's fragile heart three times.

But when I reread this manga, I found Seara is a strong girl and not easily discouraged. She always tried to melt Shuhei's cold heart but she was always rejected. Why didn't she go out with another guy since Shuhei was always worried about Ayano's weak condition?

If Seare were me, I wouldn't keep loving Shuhei since he already broke my heart and tore it into pieces

Not good

So I was really enjoying this manga until the confession, after that I just wanted to kill the main guy character and the girl's inability to get mad at him for the way he hurt her was even worse. This was not a good turn of events and I don't congratulate the author - a manga where u don't like the main characters is no good.
I do not recommend.
That being said, maybe the manga gets better further on.
However even if that were true, a manga is no good if it makes u wanna drop it half way through.
End of rant. ~ sheesh what a waste of time.

Main Guy

Kinda gonna disagree on him being a jerk.
I actually felt he was realistic/sympathetic.
As opposed to various asshole main guys out there.
He's just someone who is unwilling to take difficult steps, isn't that honest with himself, doesn;t want to hurt anybody... and therefore ends up hurting them nonetheless.
All very well and good to scream shounen-style at the computer screen that he should be true to his heart but that's not how real life works...

Which is to say for me "jerk" connotes a character who is nasty to someone else. They after all abound in shoujo.
Whereas Shuuhei never does that. He hurts Searra's feelings, sure. But it wasn't intentional, it wasn't malicious, it wasn't even pointless. It was him trying not to hurt someone else and him running away from a relationship he doesn't think it's appropriate to have and it felt human and real on his part.

In general he gives off something of a "gentle" feel, actually.

It somewhat reminded me of Koukou Debut, I guess, in that you take a stereotypical male bishounen character and transpose him on real life and see what happens. The moe becomes real flaws...

---

The age thing squicked me a bit. But it essentially is there only a plot point and to make the romance "forbidden", Searra does not act her age in the slightest. So I could sort of overlook it if I tried.

This manga was really cute. It reminded me a bit of marmalade boy.
Note the past tense.
After reading chapters 17-19 I discovered the main guy character is a jerk.
Still a good manga all the same.

The best of Shiina Ayumi's works

Good manga, probably the best of Shiina Ayumi's works so far !!!

The only thing that doesn't satisfy me is that the character that messing around with Seara and Kohei's relationship wasn't at least got a punch from Kohei or a slap on the face from Seara for what he had done !!!

I hate this character so much that I want him to experience heartbreak as many times as he had broken other people's hearts !!!! Not to mention how he acted like he had done nothing bad; what a heartless character !!!!

This kind of people doesn't deserve true love !!!! How suprising that this character still has tears to shed; wasn't his heart was made of stone !?

I really admire Searra, but chap. 17/18 is kinda sad toward Searra.
She just keeps trying to win Shuuhei's heart, if it were for me I would allready quit going after him XD.
