Can't believe a few years have passed since starting this series. It is excellent, and always leaves me waiting for the next chapter.

The art is gorgeous. The characters are superb and each have their own motivations for acting. The storyline is engaging and intelligently written.

In short, this is a gem. Read it.

it's rare for Middle eastern cultures to be portrayed in mangas (yaoi-eating and shoujo-harem sheiks doesn't count)
I guess the wave of turko-mania that struck the middle east had finally reached the distant island of japan indeed we live in the age of globalisation
and the story is well written like the title of my comment suggest
there's even some well known and obscure Shakespearian plays in there and that's sup prising for a shounen

This series is definitely one of a kind. It deserves a lot more attention than it has. The pacing of the story and the extremely good ottoman influenced story makes this series worth a shot! This is without a doubt one of the best things I've ever read. Hands. Down.

Not your average shonen manga

For some reason, I really love the two chapters that have come out so far. I think it's really easy to get into, and most of it seems to be very realistic. The good looks of both Mahmut and "Poison" are also a plus, and Boredom's scans are some of the highest quality I've seen in a while. The only problem is that all of the untranslated Turkish can get a little confusing without the translation guide (which was made by Boredom, and didn't come with the original scans), and it's a pain to keep looking back and fourth between the translation guides and the manga itself.

Some people might also have issues with Mahmut and his little eagle friends, but I don't mind.

I'll be waiting to see how this manga will turn out as more and more chapters get released, because it's still up in the air at this point.

Amazing art, great story.

The art in this manga is really amazing. Very storybook-ish, but in a good way -- it's charming and eye-catching, and very detailed. I loved it. But what really makes this manga unique is that it's a political historical drama set in Turkey -- a fictional Turkey, but still. As you might expect, the costumes and the settings are really lovely, and the wartime functioning of the Diwan (council of generals) is interesting. It's very much a shounen manga, not a seinen one, so neither the art nor the storyline have mature content. It's safe reading for people that don't want to be overdosed with graphic sex or violence, and that want a good, clean action story.

I'd like to thank Boredom for scanslating this. Whoever you guys are, thanks so much!
