Description
Tsubaki is a girl who loves making her younger sister's hair pretty every morning, but she doesn't think that kind of style suits herself! The day of her High School Beginning Ceremony, after she failed in being the top student (who usually makes the ceremony speech), she finds herself sitting next to the actual top student of the first years, the worst rude guy ever, Kyouta. She ends up cutting his hair on purpose because of the bad things he says to her. Kyouta demands that Tsubaki pay him back with her body, but Tsubaki fixes his hair instead--making it even shorter! After that, Kyouta unexpectedly kisses Tsubaki and swears that he'll make her his woman.

I read this know how the mangaka is, and I wasn't very surprised. Still, I'm the sort who gets happy when I see little moments of jealousy, so I was happy pretty often. The characterization wasn't that bad IMO, but I could see how someone would get tired of the BS in the middle. Fortunately, from where it is right now in Vol 14, things pick up a bit. There's been a lot said about this manga, so I don't want to overdo it, but I think Tsubaki and Kyouta are cute together, and although all the girls want Kyouta, they all fail miserably. What surprised me is that there wasn't more attention on Tsubaki, but there were a couple of situations WITH boys that irritated me because I'm not a fan of... well... using certain actions as a plot twist.

The end is nigh, and the ending was predictable, but I somehow still enjoyed it since it was what I wanted. Well, I have a hard time believing people who date in high school marry and stay married a long time, and I have a harder time believing that Kyouta magically avoided his father's crap martial/paternal behaviors, but it's a manga, and I just ignore it. Otherwise, I'd go mad with plot holes.

So, it's not bad. I found it rather cute, if predictable shoujo. In fact, I've read worse so I gave this a passing grade.

It got so annoying half way through D: So darn angsty with no real reason -__- Deep down I kept hoping they would break up and get over each other. They awoke in me the desire to stab them both >.>
Why is every freaking girl after Kyouta? They are so annoying. I know it is the common thing in mangas but I kept hoping that a hot guy would start hitting on Tsubaki.

I hope this has a good ending >.> This manga is so full of idiots e_e

At first I couldnt take it anymore, and dropped it at the chapter 6

This year I heard from a friend that it gets better, so I decide to pick it up, and didnt regret it, it´s truly beautiful

Not the best, but not the worst shoujo there is. Me? I got absorbed by the author's style, I adore the way she draws the big eyes, hairstyles, the lips, everything! Character-wise, there IS development (don't worry about spoilers) but everyone tends to agree that problems tend to repeat endlessly, as if the characters would hardly develop. I had a very enjoyable read, and I would totally recommend this manga to all shoujo fans. Though get ready to meet a reaaaally stubborn main character!

I liked this manga at first, and I was having high expectations, but then I see it's just another typical cliche story of shoujo genre, just like most of the other mangas by this author. Seriously I've had enough of weak and crybaby female leads. I honestly don't know how anyone can read mangas with such a dumb heroine.

This manga is so wrong I don't even know where to start, but writing down all my complaints here would make it an essay and I don't wanna waste my precious time even on such a trivial thing as commenting on it, so I'm gonna be brief. The whole series is the perfect answer to the question why shoujo mangas are terribly hated here and there, everywhere. I'm not saying I'm one of those (as there actually are quite a lot better shoujo mangas out there) but I've known countless people who gave up shoujos, and this manga just contributes to make that happen more frequently.

What I'm really confused here, though, is the fact that this series was actually one of the most popular shoujo in the net for quite a long time. Has people's tastes degrade that badly and horrendously? Or am I just too "out-of-fashion" now to like the manga?

Long story short, whatever excuse you can come up with, this manga is hands down waaaaaay overrated and waaaaaay more popular than it really deserves. I sighed a big relief when I heard it was finally over and let me assure you, I could even come to hate mangas if I were to stuck in an island with only this manga to entertain (and I actually live for mangas FYI)

I think it's cute, I mean when you're the girlfriend you feel troubled by stupid things. When you're in love you just feel so happy, and doubt anyone..you turn into someone really silly.
I like this manga because it makes sense.
It is a nice manga, I liked him and her, because it makes sense.

and it is much better than those shoujo where they only kiss a few times, E_E in a relationship you'll have lust, so come on, don't be all mean with one shoujo just because the girl is annoying, I bet when you're in love you think you're annoying everyone and you let your emotions flow instead of the logic. smile

I somewhat liked it for the first part of it....but these recent chapters...I seriously just want to slap some sense into that chick. I'm not going to drop it because I hate dropping series, but just ugh. She annoys me and alesdfjaiowesd ;A;

I literally loved the manga at first... but... omg! Last few volumes were just making me mad! But the last few chapters made me especially annoyed! I stopped to like it because of Tsubaki... she should be smart, but no, she is just so stupid ---> hate the: jealousy, can't express myself, dumb, clueless, looking to much into things type!!! I will read it till the end since I've already seen 12v... but sad it's just sad. My rating dropped from 8 to 5...

I think people should only submit a review when they finished reading the manga... manga not finished yet (translated) and how everyone already has a opinion about this? or leave here the chapter where you dropped, it would be much more interesting to than leave a review if you only read 4 or 5 chapters...
