Oneshot (Complete)

I really liked it! Normally the bara incest stories I come across are purely PWP, but this one actually had an interesting social commentary overlaying the smut. And I mean, sure, the incest may have been out of place but this comes down to personal taste. And I for one wholly enjoy bara and incest in BL. Like it or lump it. I think it was great.
I like one-shots well enough, when they're good, of course. But it's hard to really like them because they're just so short that often they come off as (and this is especially true in the yaoi genre) an excuse to draw up some kinky scenes. This was no different.
I don't like reading incest manga and this confirms that. Especially in a one-shot like this, there's no time to explore the characters deeper and there isn't any effort to justify why these two brothers are feeling each other up. There's no effort in trying to justify any of it, either, which is annoying because your brain doesn't want to accept such a relationship, so it's the mangaka's job to change your mind (see Super Lovers. not quite the same but hell if my head wasn't spinning in those first few volumes!).
I try not to be too harsh, though, because there are some good points. For instance,
the ending. It's ambiguous, and I'm not sure if they plan to be together like that forever or if it was just a one-time event. I'm kind of glad that they haven't told me, I don't really want to know.
Also, it's a one-shot, and I'm biased against those, so I try to bump up the rating. The characters were a bit buff for me, but still, the art was great.
If incest is your thing, well, don't let me stop you. But if it's not, or it might not be, skip this one. If you're looking to branch out and try something new (but ((borderline)) socially unacceptable) try Harada.
