Description
High-school student Nanamura Hikaru has little memory of his deceased father, a famous playboy actor, until his father's suave attorney, Shimogura, contacts him with the promise of a sizable inheritance. It was starting out great! But then, too many people came in.
If you think about it, half of those people weren't even important.
And it dragged out too long even though it needed to for the will or all that stuff but eventually once you find out who all the brothers were, it gets too wordy.
And what was completely stupid was that the whole point of everything was to share his estate but I havent seen the slightest view of it.
Urrg at this point it got dull for me and started hitting downward, I was just waiting for Hikaru and Shimogura to get together. And by where it's scanlated now, I'm Still waiting 7 volumes.
The art was okay. Although sometimes I was confused who was who.
I like how Hikaru was characterised. Not your typically incredibly naive or suave lead.
I had a problem with how all the focus on Senpai switched to the bearded guy.

Well, people definitely have different opinions on what's pretty art, that we know. Personally, I found the artwork in Nanahikari simple, clean and easy on the eye. The only problem being that the different characters are too easily mixed up (sadly, this is quite a problem, since the cast is pretty extensive).

I haven't stumbled upon a yaoi manga with this kind of plot before, but still, it contains quite a handful of the typical BL cliches. Nonetheless, it has about the same effect as a soap opera, driving you to read on and see what happens next. In some sequences I enjoyed reading it, and in others I was utterly appalled by the characters. But ultimately, it was entertaining.

But this manga's biggest flaw is it's characters. They're just so extremely flat. I feel utterly NOTHING for the characters, especially the three main leads. They're like empty shells. Nanamura Hikaru (main lead) has no personality and no backbone. His emotions and reactions feel so damn animated and fake. Shimogura Hirone (the attorney) has no backbone either and his sudden love for Nanamura Hikaru really doesn't come across, even when extreme measures are taken in use. Ashinuma Ushio is no exception either.

And what the heck is up with

Ushio raping Hikaru? You call that rape? And if it's called rape (though I find it silly, since Hikaru was like "oh, okay" and afterwards ".....I JUST GOT RAPED?"), why the HECK don't they deal with it in some way? It's like... "Ah, yeah, I'm sorry 'bout dat, we clear?"... Jeez. Oh Jeez. I can't take it seriously.

I find above-mentioned things annoying, since this series tries to be serious. But it feels like a joke sometimes. It's just so flat! I'm seriously amazed at how flat it is for a 7 volume series. All these flaws taken into consideration, I was actually pretty entertained through these (currently) 6 volumes (I'm embarrassed by this fact). It's completely like a soap opera, it's horrible, but you can't help but read on.

Takaguchi-sensei's stories are always out of the ordinary but interesting. This one is no exception. What I really like about this is the art. It's gorgeous. Hikaru is so beautiful. The lawyer is hot! Don't be discouraged by the art sample provided in another review. Plain characters will look plain, as intended, but the characters who are considered to be exceptional beauties will obviously be exceptionally beautiful. Her characters have flawed personalities and questionable behavior, but that adds dimension to the story.

Nanahikari is about a 17 years old boy named Nanamura who is discovering the truth about his deceased father, who had several children with other women. Nanamura must meet this half siblings and discuss the heritage with them and a long complicated and emotional process starts. Add to this Nanamura´s personal discoveries about love and sex and you´ll have a very interesting and complex plot.

So far I'm enjoying the reading, the art is beautiful and there is some hot moments and some hilarious moments. Very well built story.

Now where are the "beautiful drawings" the description here mentions? Not seen anything of it. Ok the cover is pretty but the inside is just ordinary ;_; I feel fooled.

The story is kinda weird.
The boy, who just met the inheritance caretaker of his deceased father, wants to sleep in that man's arms after the 3rd meeting - wtf oO And a school mate (male) tends to kiss him and that boy doesn't do anything. He lets everything happen to him. He has a girlfriend too. And he kinda blurts everything out to her right away. Total weirdo ~.~ I don't get him.

Well you can say this is not your generic BL story so far XD

So I guess for that it may be worth to bother with this. I only read till chapter 6 since there isn't more released yet but I guess I'll follow this story to see what it will turn into.
From the basic story, that the boy has to meet his (yet) unknown half-siblings it may become an interesting journey about the life of his half-brothers, his father and himself too. He seems to react very emotional to that.
Not really much BL focused yet (let alone yaoi) but check it out yourself. Make it through he first three chapters.

P.S.: The TL of Aarin is weird (too) -.-

If you're looking for a great story with mild BL then this is for you. The story is kinda deep but it's not that angsty and there's also humor on this manga. I love the main character he is so honest and cute. He is so honest that he told his GF that a man kiss him and have sex with LOL. Im so mad that it was not fully translated in ENGLISh and left me in a cliff hanger and it was getting good =( . I really recommend this but if you're looking for HOT sex then this manga is not for you. STORY>SEX!! I also hope there is a twist and Hikaru won't end up with the lawyer. It's been always been that the two guys you see in the beginning end up together. This is a love quad btw including his GF.

This is a top ten kind of manga. I've never seen Takaguchi Satosumi draw better than this, the protagonist is *gorgeous*, the plot's intriguing, and the sexual tension sings at times. It's just. It's just really, really good!

And all praise to the translator for doing a lovely job.

ETA: Aaand the supremely sexy glasses-wearing lawyer *officially* has an oral fixation. Of course he does.

i'm only up to the 2nd chapter... and this manga has a hint of investigation work - together with tantalizing yaoi hints... it's mystery and suspense merged in! leaves me anticipating for more chapters to solve the mystery and for the yaoi to unfold.. i wonder who he (hikaru) will have a relationship with!!!
