Gosh, the girl is so terrible confessing to a guy who already have a girlfriend.. What is she trying to do? Ruin they're relationship.. That kind of girl I really hate the most... She can just keep it to her self and try not to confuse the guy.. And beside the guy is younger than her..I like the art though..

The Unfortunate Guy Friend
Rating: 6.0 / 10.0

This is basically another rehash of the sad tale of the unfortunate childhood/guy friend. I don't mean this in the sense that the story is overly melodramatic, but rather that it fulfills the irritating trope of the supportive friend forever losing out. From one of the author's commentary panels in the latter chapters, I see that I'm not the only reader who thought Yuki had chosen the wrong guy - there was apparently little to no support for the one who was supposed to be the lead. The author was confused why he was losing, but I'll explain why.

Basically, Yuki is a girl scarred from a really bad experience during her first love, and has since sworn off it. I like her, and it's nice not to read about a girl who thinks about nothing but love, but unfortunately she ends up falling for a crybaby boy who's a mirror of her past clingy self. There's just nothing appealing about the guy - the whole reason why she becomes friends with him is because he doesn't even have the guts to talk to his ex-gf (whom he still likes)! He comes whining and crying to her whenever he experiences one of his chicken moments, so basically he treats her like his mother. Compare that to a friend who's stood by her since they met in middle school and has been carrying a torch for her for several years, isn't it fairly obvious whom many readers would prefer?

Ah well. The story itself isn't terrible (though nothing new either) and the characters are okay, but I just found the pairing so off-putting that I couldn't bring myself to like it.

Surprisingly better then the summary leads on

How come this manga has so many low ratings? Did they truly read the same manga I read?
I thought this manga was very nice; it had an intriguing change of pace from most manga in general. The main girl, Yuki, is not you run of the mill manga girl. She has strong feelings of not wanting a relationship based on reasons even a real life person would comprehend and empathize with. She is cautious in realistic aspects, as well as she thinks things out before falling into the repercussions of life. In other words, she has more intelligence then at least 50% of the manga females out there.
I liked how the mangaka contrasted her past life, with the boy she is helping now. It shows the psychological characteristics and effects of what heartbreak can produce.
Nevertheless, this manga (so far from the only two translated chapters available) is far from a tragically love story. The comedy was quite supreme in here as well, and it was funny where it needed to be, and even cute. So this is not so much a “heavy” story as it is actually entertaining and promises the starting of something in which I believe, a wonderfully written manga.
