I read three chapters ages ago and forgot the name of it. By chance, I saw the title on the Friendship Scans group page here on MU, and the title JUMPED OUT AT ME. I am SO happy to have found this again!

Even though the senses of humor are different and this series is not quite as good, it still reminds me of the wonderful Vampire Library for some reason. Perhaps it's due to their excellent playing with beloved but time-worn tropes; it's so easy a thing to get wrong that you're almost grateful when someone gets it right.
