Description
From Tokyopop:
Eiri Kurahashi is an art school student, with a job at a local antique store. It's there that he develops a strange obsession. He finds himself entranced by a portrait of a Victorian-era girl named Cossette. It's a portrait with a strange history--everyone who has owned it has been murdered in a bizarre fashion. But the story runs much deeper than that. Cossette was savagely murdered by her lover, who also happens to be the artist who painted the portrait. When the new owner of the portrait nearly kills himself, Eiri decides to get involved. And that's when Cossette begins speaking to him...

at first i was very interested in the characters and the story but it was kindda.. dragged and the sequence.. was just picture after picture, dont get me wrong the art was good and all but who in their right mind would go after a dead girl? and a creepy one at that. i felt no sympathy at the characters and i guess i just didnt got attached to them. and yeah.. this one was just too dark.. annd not dark good.. just dark and kindda predictable.
Neither good nor bad, but mostly good. It starts off in a way that gives me high expectations, but it does not live up to them. The story moves simply too fast - when you think "this is going to be when it's becoming more macabre and deep" it kind of jumps and you are already at the end. See what I mean?
I was expecting more from this story, considering the plot setup and the lovely art. But it never quite lives up to expectations: not quite horror, not quite mystery. The plot moves too fast to develop or deepen. The ending is tragic, but it never really built up to a satisfying climax. Worth reading, but not worth a high rating.
Really good story. Art was great. Story was quite compelling. Tragic, yet not quite the kind where you end up in tears. I'd say it's a good Seinen manga above all else.
I really liked , the ending was least confunsing than the OVA , i tought the art was quite unique and the plot was nice .The fans of the OVA should check it out ^-^
the story doesn't really have much to it, it started out kind of blah but it had an open beginning so i kept reading to see where it was going but it didn't go anywhere at all. the end was anticlimactically just as blah as the first chapter. no shocking revelations or plot twists should be expected X(
unless you really like it by the end of the second chapter, don't bother continuing because it doesn't get any better.
