Description
From Anime News Network The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time manga is based off of the popular Nintendo 64 game of the same name. Young hero Link travels the world of Hyrule in search of the Spiritual Stones and encounters many friendly faces throughout his journey, including Zelda, the princess of Hyrule. The focus of Link's courageous quest is to thwart the evil king Ganondorf's plans to rule Hyrule. But when our hero is absent for seven years, Ganondorf has the opportunity to obtain the power of the gods, the Triforce.
It was bullshit. While I've yet to read a manga-adaptation of a game that's incredibly good, I've found one that's incredibly bad.
The only redeeming points being the ones Xombie mentioned (The return of Zelda and the Mido-scenes, in particular)
But. Link's here, Link's there, fighting this/that boss, and it's obvious that most of it is included because it was in the game. BUT IT LACKS REASON! (The Mirror Shield-part was just ridiculous.) I couldn't possibly dream of comprehending most of the scenarios had I not played the game before. Hell, I didn't understand most of it EVEN THOUGH I DID!
The two omakes (?) at the end of Volume 2 are slightly better in this area; they're two "charming" side-stories that has no real connection to the game. The mangaka's own.
It could've been great had he focused more on it working by its own (as mentioned, it doesn't even work as a supplement).
Be vary of the high MU-scores this manga has recieved; if you're not into stuff because of the brand, you most likely won't enjoy this one at all.
