Description
From TJO:
The Kingdom of Granza is steadily building up their power and expanding their realm. Fleeing from the attack on her home, Faana and her companions hide in the woods, hoping to escape from the Granza Military. However, as her group is hunted down, Faana is the only one fortunate enough to escape alive. Half-dead, she somehow manages to travel several kilometers to the Kingdom of Cordeaa, where she passes out in a lake. Upon awakening 3 days later, she is surprised to find herself inside the castle of King Yogufu, the ruler of Cordeaa. Faana is even more surprised though, when she meets his daughter, Princess Orfina--the two girls are identical strangers. The two become fast friends, but this period of happiness doesn't last long as Granza soon advances it's power into Cordeaa...

Epic does not even begin to describe this masterpiece by mahouneko on February 19th, 2007, 5:04am

I love this series and it is currently on my "MUST PICK UP JAPANESE COPIES" list. I also currently have 2 volumes of the direct sequel Orfina SAGA.

I would say that Orfina is one of those epic war stories with immense character endearment and subsequently immense character ATTRITION. If anyone has been reading Tennouji's works (including Eden's Bowy), they'll find out that character attrition rates in Tennouji's works tend to be very high. The occasional ecchi (like pantyshots or brief nudity) scenes really only serve to break up the tense drama when slapstick humour wouldn't work.

The story is deep and it covers the breadth of Orfina's emotions, strategic deliberations, and combat/information prowess. I really don't know how else I could describe this series because absolute justice simply does not exist in this series in much the same way that it does not exist in Eden's Bowy.

Classic quality by Rivensteel on January 13th, 2007, 10:07pm

Excellent manga, judging by volume 1. One of those classic fantasy/adventure stories, with political intrigue, plenty of action, and characters you might actually care about. For some reason, perhaps due to the art, it calls to mind Escaflowne. Here's hoping more of this gets scanlated. In any case, download and enjoy!
