I don't get why the ratings for this one are so mixed and so low. Clamp no Kiseki really was designed as an anniversary collection for fans of CLAMP's work and not for casual readers who are viewing their stuff for the first time. The actual comics [or manga if you want to call it that] are only a few pages out of each volume, which are towards the back as bonus pages. The bulk being artwork and behind the scenes stuff for the actual series that is featured.

The only major negatives is that even if each volume was to be scanlated in its entirety, you'd still be missing the chess pieces as each volume came with three pieces. Really I bought this one for the chess figures more than anything.

If you bought the TokyoPop version as I did, everything is translated to English but you have no way of getting the chess board, magazine case and bonus figures that people in Japan were able to mail away for. The chess figures seem delicate as if they can break very easily. I doubt that they were made all that better for the Japanese version.

This is not really a manga, more like a collectors Item.
If you truly are a "BIG" *emphasis the BIG* Clamp fan, you would buy it.
Beautiful art and plenty of bonuses.
And you get a chessboard and the chess figurines which is pretty cool =)!
I do not have'em nor buy'em but one of my friends buys them.
But I admit he is a HUGE fan so he bought most of the clamp manga.

I don't know if it was bad translation (but I doubt it on this one) or what, but this didn't make a lick of sense to me.

To be fair, the 4 panel comics about the girl who can see spirits made sense. It was even kind of cute. The girl's later appearance in the comics also made a bit of sense to me. And the 2 page "chapter" about the GPS was also kind of clever. The rest?

WTF just happened??

I think this might be more enjoyable if you cast aside the usual idea of manga and just figure these are cute/bizarre pictures and scenes that Clamp decided to draw. Randomly. For no apparent reason. That don't make sense.

I adore CLAMP like crazysauce... but WTF happened here??
