The romance part was fairly all right. However, it just didn't seem interesting enough to read past Volume 1. And some of the humor and crass depiction of gay people were a big turn-off.

I had this on hold for a long time cause this cover didn't catch my interest. However, after finally reading it I was instantly hooked. The only down side was that it only is scanned up to ch. 22 just when it starts getting really interesting.

Maybe we should add horror as genre, because this manga has the most horrifying scenes I've ever seen. Well, in a funny way at least... biggrin

So damn funny... I love the scenes in the gay club, with the drag queens talking about their failed romances and roping our hapless young hero(ine) deeper into sexual confusion.

Sure, the humor's crass and unsophisticated, but who needs sophistication? Note that readers should refrain from eating or drinking while reading this manga, because spontaneous sporfling is a definite risk. biggrin

I thought it was going to be really bad, but I read it on a whim. Needless to say, one volume later, I was hooked. Its one of those things you just have to read. The preview picture does not do this manga justice!

Homophobic Depictions, Downplay of Rape
Rating: N/A

Humorous--however, at the expense of the LGBTQ community. The majority of jokes made play off of stereotypical caricatures of gay men in drag. The romantic inclinations of minor (non-heterosexual) characters are trivialized and used as comic relief, often in conjunction with their inability to "pass"--or be perceived as female because of a lack of stereotypical feminine features. At one point one of the minor characters even rapes the main character in what's supposed to be a funny scene. To be honest, ALL the non-heterosexual characters are portrayed as thirsty, thinking about dick all the time. These depictions only perpetuate a common societal view of non-heteros as perverts who don't care about consent and are driven by base desires, doing little to further their inclusion and acceptance into general society. The article that was included in the scanlation I read addressed this, but the content remains in the manga nonetheless.

tl;dr--The entire story is centered around a heterosexual man going after a conventionally cute and naive girl. Gender and sexual minorities are played for laughs.
