From Infinity Studios:
Once upon a time, there was a ruler of a small Kingdom who was burdened with the task of running the Kingdom at an early age. This ruler was the ideal monarch who was a natural leader. This rulerís only fault, if you can call it that, was a fetish for women with long straight luscious black hair. Now imagine that the setting is the present, and that this ruler was a young beautiful Queen.

This manga is pointless. No plot, no character development, no real romance... Nothing! If there were hot steamy yuri scenes here it would be good read. But it doesn't push any buttons. Just tickles a little. And tickling is good when there are other buttons to push. But there aren't any.
I took off a point because a couple moments weirded me out -- like when the queen tells Ar (a young girl) she can't wait until the girl comes of age. Obviously it was supposed to be take humorously, but I can be squeamish and that's totally pedobear material right there.
The ending was a little rushed and it was somewhat unrealistic at parts (50,000 sobame -- really?), but it was pretty cute and fun overall.
It might not be the best yuri plot out there. But. If you want a defining word, it's "cute". And "cool", for Iono. Everything you'd expect from Fujieda is here: lighthearted story, cute and (a little) sexy characters, great costumes and, of course, CUTENESS. Lots of it. Only minus is that it feels a little short. Or maybe it's a plus too, as I couldn't get enough of it.
A great little manga
A very nice little series, I wish Infinity Studios had gone to the effort to finish it. The Dynasty Scans work was good, but I have a thing about holding the book in my hands (also, computers are very difficult to read in bed). As for this title not being "Yuri" enough, two things: first, for almost all Western use, Yuri reads as a synonym for Shoujo Ai, rather than the the more explicit, hard-core connotation it has in Japan, much as Yaoi reads as the softer Shounen Ai; second, how exactly did you miss Iono-sama flinging herself at every "Black-haired beauty" in sight. Hell if you're looking for the "Love" aspect, just look at her and Ito. In truth, the only flaw in this series is that 2-vols is just too short to develop everything that they could have. I could see a nice 2-3 eps OVA coming out of this, but it will never happen.
Slow. Generic. Misleading. Boring.
I had to force myself to finish this one. It's not terrible, but it progresses really slowly, and by the end, I couldn't help but think, "That was it!?". Iono's 12 chapters felt like 4 or 5 volumes - and not because they're long. It's like a movie that ends, and you swear it was 3 hours long, but then you look at your watch and realize it was barely over an hour. At that point, it doesn't matter what good points it had - it made you bored.
Also, this is tagged as "yuri", but really there's only like, 2 pages where there's some implied yuri going on - otherwise it's a harem with a female lead. Misleading.
Light comedy, reverse harlem with an empress and all girls. Not a bad start.
Iono the empress is not strong enough to drive the comedy, well that's The author's usual style.
The relationship ripen too fast for a tsundere. The ending was in a rush as the serialised magazine ended business in 2006. That's why so you can see many characters are loosely presented only.
Also, the stories are weak & not innovative despite an interesting setting was made.

I'm huge Yuri fan, and have been meaning to read Iono Sama since I first heard about it some time ago. Well, I finally did read it and I wasn't disappointed.
Actually, wait, I was disappointed. There should have been more of this great series. It's unbearably cute, humorous (Iono is such a fun character), sexy, and even has some rather nice action scenes. The plot has a bit of a far-fetched quality, but the great characters, particularly the infectious Iono, carry it.
A fun read.
Hmmm... the story was quite entertaining and rather enjoyable although it could've done without the 2nd last part with Yama-chan(or whatever her name was). It was a pity how the manga moved from quirky and interesting into yet another cruddy action-packed manga. I'll admit the action scenes weren't all that bad but all that action alone couldn't really carry yet another cliched storyline. Therefore, it deserves no more than an 7.

i love this manga so much
omg, this manga is beyond awesome, its too bad it only spans 2 volumes... its got a fresh and far fetched storyline, the characters are unbelievably kawaii and full of moe! and its as YURI as u can get! this manga seriously needs to be turned into an anime, not many people know about this series, but its so much fun to read and i cant get enough of it. im quite a picky reader also, and i know when something is trashy. but this manga is executed in such a nice manner! easily a 10/10 for me
Great beginning, but lackluster ending.
The series was great up until the last chapter, with good art and characters. However the ending leaved alot to be desired, and it ended on a very cliche note.
