Yoshinaga's genius and his gift for political maneuvering have helped him ascend to the higher spheres of the Ministry of Foreign affairs at an early age. As for Shiraishi, the prestige of his family as well as his dedication to his job has also led him to an early career in diplomacy. Yoshinaga is Shiraishi's future brother-in-law as he is soon to be married to his sister. When the two meet in Thailand, a stunning tale of love unfolds.

It's a shame that it's not moving forward, as many other mangas... however, what is there is great and definitely worth a read! I very much prefer completed stories and don't usually even read ongoing ones or dropped ones, but on the other hand, it would be a shame to miss out on these, so read it!
Such a Shame if Dropped
I just fired off an e-mail to sensei's website that I don't want her to continue Haru. Instead I want her to continue & finish this series, Boku No Koe & Kiss Ariki instead. I am amazed that her publisher is not counselling more self discipline to her. I definitely can't get away w/ so much unfinished tasks at my own work place!
It is only my opinion, I am not trying to influence anybody!
NITTA Youka is the mangaka who introduced me to yaoi. I am grateful to her for that. That said, I can't stand her disrespectful treatment of the reader. Below is the list of her unconcluded/discontinuend/on hiatus / ongoing mangas. Boku no Koe 2004 Kiss Ariki. 2010 Koushi Kakka no Himitsu Gaikou 2006 Otodama 2007 Spiritual Police 2011
While non of the above seem to make a real progress she announced on her website that she feels like she can finally pick up Haru wo Daite Ita where she left it off. I am a talentless, awfully unskilled, very uncreative and incredibly unimaginative person. So I not only like but demand to be spoon-fed conclusions to started stories, That's for one. For another, while I think that all the characters from Haru wo Daite Ita are incredibly hot, 14 mangas all with the same (SAME not similar. Sorry, in some a younger version!) drawings, that pisses me off too. The plot is incredible. It does draw you in, and then leaves you high and dry hanging there. I am not a nice person. I am not an understanding person. While I recognize her talent, I hate the way I am treated as a reader. As much as I loved Haru wo Daite Ita, I do not intend to buy any other mangas by NITTA Youka unless they are conclusively completed. If you hate being left hanging in the air, I recommend you to do the same, no matter how great her stories may be.

This is one of my favorite from the mangaka. Hats off for the intricate story and details. Intrigue, lies, politics. Yeah, intelligent dialogues and reasoning you have it here. This series is not only for the sake of screwing between men and not that often like any yaoi manga. Art and h-scenes are surely hot and top of the art. Chara designs are to die for. The uke is so charming and lovely. You'd even fall for him. I am excited for the rest of the chapters. Recommended for a read not just about sex between men.
Agredd w/ all above...
I haven't read anything from this mangaka before...so I can't speak to that.
I'm through the first Vol. and I can't wait until the denouement. However, I think I'm going to wait 'til it's completed. I can't take the hard core angst. I want to be able to read it through so as not to be hung up in midst of the drama.
And boy, do we have drama. I don't see an easy way out for them or poor sis. So, I'll put it on pause. I still say, at this moment in time...8 or 9 on plot. Lovely art (OMG the look on Minister's face when he answers the door @ one point...) + (and the mole...I want to lick it.)
Agreed w/ the good sex scenes...interesting and different in terms of places, positions, expressions. Very nicely done.
Most Youka Nitta manga are such turn-offs for me, art- plot- and character-wise, but this one... Gosh. Gorgeous, gorgeous characters (especially that birthmark under the minister's left eye - mmm), a tense, cagey relationship dynamic, and sex scenes that left me fanning my face before I'd even got halfway through them. The plot, well, it's better than most yaoi set in the world of diplomacy (and yay for that particular sub-genre), with some clever double-speak between officials, and the ongoing cheating thread is handled really fairly well: no easy way out for the brother character, and no attempt - yet - to colour his actions as anything other than unfair.
And no g-string posing pouches for a change! So no more bursting out laughing in the middle of the steamy chapters. Nice one!
Great story, hot scenes..buy it! ^_^
This manga is really special. Not only are the characters heartbreakingly beautiful as only Youka Nitta can make them, but the story itself is really engrossing. Like others have said, it's hard to find a yaoi manga with a great story and great love scenes. This one has both. The sex scenes are just....well, get it and see. No glowing cones here. I really love all of Youka Nitta's works, but Secrets of a Minister Excellency is my all time favorite. Her other characters are sexy, but Yoshinaga is truly to die for. His mix of intellect, charisma and unrivalled beauty are really something to behold. I can't wait to read more. Please pick this one up. -Alice
i'll keep reading
generally, while acknowledging nitta youka's talent, i don't get that easily drawn into her stories because her men are "suits", *wry grin* -- too much fashion detail for my taste, and all of the ostentacious kind. but diplomacy is a better subject for me than hosting or AV acting, and yoshinaga is a great guy; bright, charming. clever. so what the heck is he doing with shiraishi? beats me, honestly. so far shiraishi comes across as a twit.
Yoshinaga is not just beautiful, but smart and charming as well.
Good manga. Yaoi manga with a plot? As usual this has an ongoing story like all of Nitta's works so it's not just sex and pointless angst. There are very few yaoi mangaka who tell a good STORY and have a great romance. Youka Nitta is of course one of them. This time it's foreign minister and deals with politics. While not as interesting as actors or seiyuu, still another quality work that I hope continues for a while.
