Our Hero is aspiring to be a basketball player since his childhood. Although being short, Haruyoshi joins the basketball club in his school, but always was just the 'errand boy' for the rest. Running... into a girl changes his destiny. She, being the clubs manager, investigates a scouting note which leads her back to him after their first encounter. Will she turn Haruyoshi into a great basketball player?

Personally I think eyeshield sucks. Well, atleast the anime does. I hated his personality. Not to mention I hate american football..so that doesnt help. But judging from the other comments, Im not even gonna bother reading this.

Personally best sports stories include slam dunk (first read only though for me) and dear boys I/II. Hungry hearts is a good anime.

Update- New soccer manga called area no kishi is awesome...I think the stories I like have a really good balance between sports AND character development...just for the record, I thought suzuka sucked though. The main guy made me mad with his indecisiveness.

another typical basketball manga -.-.... i mean how many have i read now?... and how many of them are about short kids?.... well i guess i only came to read this since that blonde hair girl lookz cute... and the art lookz nice.... but i dont think this manga is anything special... and i wonder why there are so many about basketball with short kids -.-..... the only one about basketball i really liked is "Slam Dunk" and that author (forgot his name) wrote tons of others like that something (forgot the name again) about wheelchair basketball and space basketball... totally wtf.... too many basketball isnt good for your health (and im not into basketball to begin with....)

what?!... this replaced Mx0?!.... damn... that sucked.... Mx0 is one of my favorite sad... i read it everyweek... waitin for the release.... and even tho the mangaka rushed the endin due to pressure... like how it did in pretty face...... the endin leaves the reader to use their imagination to imagine what will happen... that guy is awesome....ive read all the manga by him and every single one of them (includin the oneshots) are awesome.....cant believe that they replaced Mx0 for this... totally sucked....

i can tell that you must have just started readin manga..... this is just like another typical shounen manga about basketball -.-.... so borin... (the only good one about basketball is Slam Dunk, as i stated)

this replaced mx0 oh hell no
theres too many basketball about some short kid having incredible control of the ball speed and what not to make up for his height... going against all odds
redundant but ill give it a few more chapters to see which direction it turns but still because this replaced mx0 im going to be extremely critical of this series

I don't see much hope for this.

The first chapter has really nothing interesting about it. The introduction of the chapter made me think it was One Piece, basketball edition. Replace Shanks for the man, Luffy with the child protagonist and the straw hat for the basketball. The characters are boring and really uninteresting. A young protagonist with no balls, no confidence who wants to accomplish something big... Where have I seen that before? The comedy in this manga isn't really... comedy. It's just not funny. The "I WAS SAYING THAT ALL ALONG" jokes can only work for so long.

I usually read a few chapters to see whether or not I'd like the series, but I won't for this. There's nothing that shows me this is going to be anything good, so chapter 1 will be my first and last chapter read for this series.

the art is cute and neat. the storyline is ok too. i wonder what next. not like a typical manga like Cross Over or etc. i am expecting something good. bigrazz
