Description
It's all about vampire-hunting versus man-hunting in this series.

Akira's brother, Atsushi, has been missing for two years. And recently a mysterious woman appeared and told him that she can take him to the island of Higanjima where she says she saw Atsushi. But she also asked that he bring a few friends along with him...

It's gross and horrible, but for some reason you can't look away. It's super explicit (nudity,sex, rape of various kinds,etc.), very violent and disturbing overall, and the artist doesn't have a whole lot of talent (I think he can only draw maybe 3 kinds of faces), the storytelling feels rather juvenile, and but for some reason I keep coming back for more.

[Also, it's published on a weekly basis, so the chapters are short, and the first two pages of each chapter is a repeat of the last two pages of the previous chapter. Which I guess is a necessary evil, but it's annoying.]

friday the 13th without the hilarious camp. as it is, it merely exists in that alternate classmate-fodder dimension. it's like an unedited regurgitation of a dream. i might finish this roadkill jerkfest because it can't be wholly unredeeming as a story, can it? i mean, it can't be worse than religious comic books, right?

all gore, straight forward development, too convenient of elements introduction, and blunders.

things i called to convenient is like this; when it seems all hopes are gone, you got extra 'one more chance' card to feel relieved for a while, oh, they must to do that before they can kill us, we got more time. when it seems you get hang of it, you got 'oh no, new stronger enemy' card to feel dreaded once again. the story is like forced to go on a lil longer by introducing previously unknown card. it reeks poor planning.

and i haven't talk about blunders...

It's a little strange at first, but you get used to it. The story is almost straightforward and doesn't really have any depth to it. At some point I realized, that nothing more than killing and blood all over the panels, should be expected. Well, some people might find this interesting though(cuz there's no hero).
I can't enjoy reading about people running around screaming and crying. Oh, and Ken's philosophy on how to hunt vampires(priceless).

Quite a rollercoaster. It starts as somewhat slice-of-life in small city about few friends and then they fight a vampire which is pretty much an unstoppable terminator. Then there's a prison part which was rather psyhological and short. And then it goes bad. Vampires are killed instantly, monsters are willing to wait to let characters speak and remeber good old times, mortal injuries are nothing that would stop you from fighting or talking - basically a shonen with some blood.
Art is so-so which is not something I cared at first but once story-telling worsened I noticed it again.
I'll still return to it later to check if it got good again though.

well i can't say the art is good but how it is drawn it work with the distorted mood..
the over all plot is quite good so far but the character itself hmmm how do i say it quite pathetic too much fake emotion to call it real in the situation was some time over exaggerated. so i lost interest when it came to them talking to each other but the Over all plot is really good!

horror is not my favourite kind of genre. Still ...

This manga got a horror atmosphere, believable story and good art. A step above other horror manga.

Too bad about the pace of releases though. Let's hope that Shiraku group will have more endurance than Manga! Inc. in doing this manga.

Despite the violent piece which qualify it as seinen manga, many combat tactics and logic of the story are arranged in ridiculous way. The story feels more like a barely passed shonen manga, and the author fails to deliver the emotion part well too.

I just found out about this manga and I must say that it is EXCELLENT. Its a shame that it has been worked on in over 2 years now. I wish someone would pick this up.
