Be it a sudden, painful revelation or a slow ballad, second love carries the hope of happiness again. Two tales of love experienced twice unfold in Want to Depend You.

A professor of literature has died, leaving his son Yamato and his assistant Onodera to put his affairs in order. To Onodera, Yamato constantly echos his beloved professor; his grief grows desperate. Will Onodera’s past memories consume his chance for future love and break Yamato’s heart in the process?

Ten years ago, friends Yuuya and Arata became lovers, but their crushing love died as soon as it began. Yuuya fears the past will repeat itself... but could a song feel different when it’s played a second time?

I dont get the first story idea's at all. Yeah, this guy was a total replacement, there is no doubt about it. And I dont see why the uke decides to be with him at the end, after saying "Ur not him, I dont want u", just because they meet again. It offered no reason about it whatsoever. It would be a lot better if the story goes in full volume but here we are, next couple.
Eh uhm, no personality depth and not enough past, its the most boring way of ex get together, both single-->sex--> I actually liked u before-->I love u now-->lovers, what?
The extra is also a total bore. We just see them about some random thing.
I love the author work and her art grew in me but this one, I cant say I like it.

well, i do like kinoshita's work, but i think short stories are not her forte. there was too little development here for me to feel satisfied after reading. i could accept the premise of the first story if the time had passed while they were getting to know each other. but without contact? why would there be anything different? how would yamato know whether he's not still just a replacement?

the second story is about two people who reconnect at a mutual friend's wedding. apparently 10 years before they started a romantic relationship which was abruptly ended by one of them. i would have cared more if i had learned more about these two people, but like in the first story, they get back together without sufficient rationale.

when i don't care about the characters, the sex has to be extraordinarily hot to make me enjoy the manga. it's not hot here.

and the art. well. it's growing on me a little (the colour art is significantly better), but it's still not something to get excited about, and i subtract points for that.

Too bad I didn't like this one. The first story annoyed me enough to stop reading. How can the main character accept being his father's replacement. Everytime they kiss or get intimate, the other guy always think about his father. It's pathetic. Definitely didn't like it.

Well then again, I don't really like any of Kinoshita's work anyway. Her art aren't exactly pretty and her plot are not the most interesting. Very mediocre mangaka in my opinion.
