Tatsumi is a normal boy going to school and living with his strict older brother. Orphaned at a young age, his brother has been both a mother and a father to him. One day, he and his friends are about to rescue a beautiful girl from being harrassed when she beats them up herself. When she sees Tatsumi, she suddenly calls him "Rui". What does this mean? Who is the girl? Why are there strange men attacking him all of a sudden? And why is his brother suddenly so different??

But the supporting cast really saves the story: Prince Rui, the (female!) rebel boss Deua, Juna, Doctor Weir, even the various villagers and terrorists/rebels they team up with, are such patriotic, resourceful and dedicated characters that I found myself truly rooting for their rebellion to succeed.
The world building and the plot are quite interesting as well, though the rapid-fire pacing leaves no room for proper build-up of suspense or satisfactory characterisation. I'm personally fond of the art style, too, but it's very lean and angular, so I doubt very many share that opinion.
Worth a read for anyone who doesn't mind/likes non-romance shoujo (the protagonist has a girlfriend, but she plays a very minor role in the story). It's a very quick read, too, as each volume has only 160+ pages.

Hmmm....out of all her works, I think this is the best. It held my attention until the very end and I wished there were more volumes, regarding more of the royalty family and Rui/Tatsumi's situation.
Like everyone say, there is no shounen-ai. But I don't see some of the characters ending up with anyone (or just confused who should end up with who), so I guess this manga leaves it to the reader's imagination.

well, regarding shounen ai elements in the story, there is NONE. of course if you consider shaking hands and smiles as a sign of shounen ai, then yes, probably you will find a few moments like these in this story but other than that you will find nothing as boys romance.
now about the story: it has some chaotic atmosphere and confusing plot line and was getting more and more annoying as it was getting close to the end. it was like the author was trying to mix many elements from fantasy and romance up together and creates a an exciting climax but oh well, it didn't go that well. however the story has strong potential for turning into one great series and the art is good as well.

it held my interest. i just read the whole thing for quite a few hours straight and even decided to stay up super late knowing i need to get up early tomorrow. it was pretty good. I wouldn't exactly say that "shounen ai" describes it.. at all, but it was .. sort of... there... sort of... maybe. it wasn't exactly said... but... yeah.. it was good. i highly suggest it even though i didn't care for that style in artwork, the plot was great and stuff... and... yeah. =)

This is definitely an enjoyable story. The fantasy elements are very good, the artwork is good, and the plot is always moving forward. This kind of plot is one of my favorites and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
