Started good, then near the end it went downhill...

The manga started out good, there were nice characters, they had development, though it was a bit all over the place. The plot seemed nice too, nice and cool supernatural stuff. Then near the end, like the fifth volume or the second half of the fifth volume, it all went to hell. So much to hell, that because of the shock of it I can't even describe much of what happened before that. It was the most confusing ending I have ever read, seriously, other endings have confused me, but they were clearly open endings. On the other hand, this ending was full of mixed signals, to start, it was too short and rushed. Also, it felt like the mangaka wasn't sure if the manga was getting axed after this chapter so she just made the most ambigous and misleading statements she could come up with in case she had to continue the series.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Fisrt of all, who was the father? I think it was Mika because the children looked like him and because his relationship to Takamichi seemed more intimate than with Seijuro, and if you notice, in the last chapter, Mika is wearing a ring on his finger (it's kind of highlighted with some glowing around his hand in a close up), I don't know if that means anything, cause well, it wasn't on his ring finger, but it's there at least. So Tatsuyuki was alive? seems so? First he was dead, then not, then again, and then not..... and all of this without one single explanation. The dogs were actually Night and Snow? At the beggining I thought they were some other dogs, becuase of the other characters' innuendos and how they were refered to as "those dogs" as if there were other dogs, a.k.a. the real Night and Snow, but then they transformed to save her babies, so I just don't know anymore. And as per usual in this volume, it's never explained! yay!! (NOT).
So to sum it up, it started out good, totally recommendable, and when you reach the last half of the las volume, be prepared for total confusion. I guess if you go prepared and know not much will make sense, you won't be too dissapointed :S. It was good, quiet good, and then it all went to hell.

EDIT: Maybe some things were lost in translations? Not that it would have fixed everything, but some would have been a bit clearer? Who knows.

starts off well, but it becomes wildly disappointing

The series started off light and transitioned fluidly into heavier themes (protagonist guilt, the wolves coming into ans trying to understand their feelings for their master), but the author writes herself into a corner, and she ends up retconning and confusing things. The plot becomes too big for this originally small ans cozy manga, with way too many characters and unnecessary complexity regarding the clan business.

I thought this was shaping up to be really special, but after reading through the scans to the end, it became middling and disappointing. Setsu and Yuuguru honestly aren't even main characters by about chapter 20.

Good art, bad plot, so much potential. If you like this art style, just read Sarashi Asobi and skip this mess all together.

And for the record...
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Takamichi doesn't end up with either Setsu or Yuuguru. Some random ex fiance clansman is introduced and they get together swiftly afterward.
Huge let down. There were so many other ways this could've ended, but it got rushed, sloppy, convoluted, and increasingly immature.

Amazing read...but annoying ending.

I truly enjoyed this series. Like, who wouldn't?! Hot were-wolves who guard their tsundere master...but i was disappointed with the ending - in the romance department anyway. The build up pushed it to end in a certain way and it just didn't. Yes yes i understand why...but i can still be annoyed over the out come. I can't give away spoilers but i was so disappointed i threw the manga across the room - drama queen much? haha

Everything else, however, was great. Good drama that lifted you up but also pushed you down. Great art with amazing character designs and movements. Laugh-out-loud comedy that always put a smile on my face. This is a typical Action/Shoujo with interesting characters. I fell for Snow and Night many times over - SO CUTE! Even though this has supernatural themes, the drama and slice-of-life events were very realistic. Takamich must make realistic life chooses that will affect the future of her family. She definitely follows her head...not her heart - which i guess is why i was a little disappointed.

Recommendation: read for interesting/hot characters and drama evolved around supernatural elements ONLY. Do not read for satisfying romance (but of course there are heart fluttering scenes...but that's all) ^^

There is something unsatisfactory about the manga. The art is great, but it's the story - it has potential, but at the same time it doesn't. From what I have read, I don't think don't it can give a ending which would satisfy me or leave me with a big impression.

I will keep reading though because relationship between the heroine and the pups are somewhat interesting! Is it platonic or not? I want to know! :')

Funny, heart-warming and refreshing all-in-one

It's really enjoyable. The art isn't the greatest but it's fine once you get going. The pages are filled with lots of minor details that all add to the enjoyment so take your time going through those (but ok too if you skip over and only follow the main line). Lots of LOL parts and pure mayhem but the overall theme is a heart-string tugging quest of the heroine wanting to follow/explore the depths of her motherly instincts. I love it when the heroine is UBER COOL, serious (no silly flowery romantic thoughts), and can kick butt. Beneath the cool surface we see her finding her own way to express her maternal yearnings. Readers who love cute cuddly animals will find the two werewolves (and even the piglet vampire?) irresistable in puppies form. Their human form don't do much for me though, but the story is funny and different enough for me to want to follow. Highly recommended as a refreshing change ...
