Its ok, definitely for a younger demographic (10-12yrs?) than the regular Bamboo Blade series. Because of that it lacks some of the depth and characterization of the regular series. Art wise its also ok, but nothing fantastic. Read 15 chapters, its a little too childish for my tastes so I dropped it.

Certainly it doesn't do bad as a related series. Initially I only checked it because I was reading Bamboo blade as well, but after reading some chapters I can say it's a good read. With kendo as the common point, the way it develops is somehow different and has its own charm. I hope it keeps being like this.

This is basically the original work placed in a more traditional shounen romance/sports/comedy setting. It's fun, but not really as strong a title. Honestly, I probably wouldn't bother with it if wasn't reading Bamboo Blade anyway. Still, if nothing else, the humor is spot-on.
