Haha. This has become the lowest rated series, not counting the unrated series. Even the worst series somehow managed to get a 5, but this actually got a 2. I guess it made Baka-Updates history, in a way? Kind of funny. Here's the proof:

Guess it's subject to change but it should be around those pages.
Oh yes and I'm not going to offer my opinion after seeing all the bias this series already faces. It feels kind of unfair to rate something when you don't like it or have no interest in it. It's a somewhat prejudiced opinion (or as with some comments, a sort of grudge) if I vote off of my preconceptions of this tweenish fad.

well basically what the subject said- who knew this would become a manga- i just cannot believe it. Personally though, looking at the cover of volume one i would have to say the people could've been drawn a little better, and that i don't that a lot of people are gonna read it, probably only the ones that are true HSM fans.

I strongly suspect the vast majority of the people that rated this manga a "1" didn't read a page of it. So you hate the live-action and hate that Disney is trying to make more money off of it. So do I, to a degree. It's not like scanlations cost money to read.
This is a solid typical shoujo. The storyline is actually better than a fair amount of others in its genre. The art is also solid and typical. It's certainly nothing special, but it's nothing horrible, either. It would be a great way to introduce young girls that are fans of the movie to the world of manga. If you're a fan of the movie, you will almost definitely like it. If you're a fan of typical shoujo, you may like it as well. But don't whack it before you try it.

Personally, I hate everything High School Musical. I don't even like musicals in the first place, so that explains a lot. Still, even if the Manga is "Fair" and the characters are much more 'Good-lookin' than in real life, this still isn't my cup of tea.
Shoujo manga is... great sometimes, but when they use romantic stories all the time, it gets old. I would've rather read Powerpuff Girls Z, instead of this crap -_- |

I do not like High School Musical a lot but I don't think this even deserves a 1. Pretty unfair if you haven't even read the manga yet to just give it a one because you think that the live action is crap. But the art is nice.

| I'm actually glad people are shocked by this, to be honest i thought i would have been the only one! Most of the people in my school + everywhere literally love this overrated bad excuse for a series. And now a manga? What is coming of the world of manga? My love for shoujo has literally gone through the window O_o |

| This is another lame way Disney wants to get money off of people. Hopefully no one will translate or scan this cr*p. Enough already, we've seen and reseen all those stupid commerials and all those products about HSM, but even a manga?? |

| lol @ all the 1 rate. I mean, HSM is SUCH SHOUJO stuff... Now, i'm totally not a shoujo fan, I watched HSM from forces of my friends, and i don't even think it's good. But I can totally tell that HSM movie is definitely one of shoujo story you can find in every shoujo ~ Well if you hate HSM so much then probably you don't really like those kinds of shoujo either ~ But there're thoundsand more of people like these kinds of shoujo stuff ~ So if live action can based on manga, why not the otherwise? Besides, there're more of musical manga out there - For example is one of a manga that most of people like shoujo like "La corda ~". And I mean, if you said manga can't describe the nice of music then tbh, manga can't describe sports, feelings etc..... either ~ |

oh man I'm surprised that they made a manga of HSM >_> really wierd! why draw a manga of a live action  I have just seen live action based on manga but not contrary >_> I have read the teaser and it is really wierd XD well I have never watcehd the movie neither series. But still why make a manga based on the movie? So whenever there is more good movies they will make it into manga?? I'm not gonna rate it cause I haven't really read the whole chapter  But still it is so bad as the ratings??

Ok from reading the teaser I can only guess it's a sequel to the movies(male myself so haven't seen the movies). I don't get the hate since the from what I understand. The movies are pretty much on the same level as most shoujo manga. I know this series won't be as bad as most shoujo series that are available. Honestly all these 1 ratings should be deleted since they rate a series based on a few pages. >_________> The art is standard shoujo fair.
