In these haunting tales, Dolls— human-like androids— have an uncanny way of working themselves into the lives of their masters. DOLL examines the question of what it means to be truly human. [TokyoPop]
6 Volumes (Complete)

I knew that was going to happen in the end of chapter one... The first chapter was my favorite out of volume one. The man and his mistress got what they deserved, that is why you should always wait for the will or else you lose everything. Plus I think it was better that she made it that way, she probably knew they would do something to the boy and that the money would go to where it belonged to people who really needed it for a good purpose...
Though the boy smiled in the end, he will now be with the women he been with since she was young forever... Nothing is more beautiful then that. I love Mihara Mitsukazu work. Especially the one manga R.I.P.
I was always wanting to read a manga about a doll with such emotion, my wish was granted.
I find that manga with this kind of setting is better then the crud of manga that is just about stupid girls trying to get with popular boys. I read them, though manga such as this will always hold a place in my heart cause you can feel the emotion burning in the words as you read them off the page...
-.-
I am sad... I am going to have to waste money on buying the rest of the volumes of this manga. 2 down, 4 to go...
Wish it wasn't dropped/licenced... what a pain. Though I guess it would be worth it cause I really like this manga and want to read the rest... never will I leave something unfinished.
Dolls have been published in English by Tokyopop and I have read the entire 6 volumes. It's definitely ONE OF A KIND. It fascinates me how the mangaka included in lots of psychological terms into DOLLS and incorporate it with the main Theme, Androids known as "DOLLS".
Includes lots of psychological terms such as Bulimia, Dsyfunctional families, Giftedness, PTSD and various sexual fetishes (e.g S&M, Necrophilia..infantilism).
Imagine putting all of these into a GothicLoli ANDROID themed Manga!
Mihara sensei also questions the readers on Who is more "humane", the Humans or the Androids? and DON'T EVER think that this manga's heading to the typical "Androids hates Humans and wants World domination" plot like the Androids in I-Robot movie.
This manga is EXCEPTIONALLY original.
Amazing, thought-provoking, with never-stale plots despite so many different stories. Took me a minute or two to get used to the art, but well worth it.
