Such a great and hilarious manga by ceraphin24 on September 3rd, 2009, 8:06pm

I rarely laugh this hard, semi typical shoujo plot which is fine it's why i'm reading it. the comedy is fantastic plot could be a little far out but still good. the main character is so likeable and the situations she gets into are just too good

this is so... by weronique on August 28th, 2009, 4:34am

ok, i started to read it, and since i was really curious i read the ending to see it...i haven´t opened this manga since then and i won´t ever do it again.

there are few types of manga for me, and this is one of those where i like manga all the way, i like it almost whole, but then comes the ending which makes me SO disgusted and depressed that my paths won´t ever cross with this manga.

only few of those are out there and this is one of them...i had a bad mood for whole day because of this manga...and this i not what i´m looking for. when i read manga, i usually want it to make me better, to make me forget everyday problems.

mnah...i didn´t intend to blabble so much....but...to sum up....WHYconfused! WHY IS THIS MANGA-KA SUCH an Sconfused!

Spoiler (highlight to view)
OMG! i really dont know how to react in the ending! i love kazuma, but i like tsukasa! haha., but i guess love is greater than like., haha., im happy that midori ended up with kazuma, but i dont know why, i feel like i wanted her to ended up with tsukasa too!! hahaha., a really unexplainable feeling!!

KAZUMA is so nice, and i really love him. he even look like arata of moe kare.,[i really love arata too]

TSUKASA is a bad boy type.. he's so gorgeous! and hes a mature type., but i hate what he did to midori. he's a jerk!

Stupid by Aenonar on April 27th, 2009, 10:53am

Meh... She had given up on defeating Tsukasa even before she said she would defeat him. And what the hell? This can barely be called gender bending. All she did was put on shorts and cut her hair. Her breasts are completely noticeable (not at all small either) and bouncing all over the place (no bra for some reason). I have no clue how anyone could possibly miss it. And walking around / sleeping naked... She's not one bit serious.
Incredibly weak.

I did not like it by reb8260 on April 16th, 2009, 2:25pm

This story was not at all pleasing aside from the happy ending. I can not tolerate Midori's stupidity for just giving up her virginity to Tsukasa and completely ignoring Kazuma's, as well as, her own emotions. Also, truthfully told, Kazuma is a waste on Midori because she never realized her feelings for him until the very ending!!! That is just dumb. I feel sorry for Kazuma and Midori is just infatuated with Tsukasa!

I couldn't agree more! by jello4every1 on March 6th, 2009, 4:25am

I agree ENTIRELY with everything Ariel said...Kazuma had no real position to be the taker of Midori's heart in the end...there was no development in that area aside from naive indecisiveness on Midori's part...and Tsukasa's strong persona was TOTALLY wasted on her...out of all the manga's i've ever read (smut especially) I've never been so pissed off by an ending... It literally baffles me just thinking about it now... I can't express how I felt when the author decided to shoot us in the behind when she totally flipped around the interest of the ending... it was completely out of place and irrelevant to everything the story had been building up to at that point ...Tsukasa and Midori went through so much emotionally (and physically) and I felt like so much energy and emotion gained from that development went to a total waste.

The only reason I'm not giving it a one is because the artwork and storyline (Midori's character aside) was compelling enough to keep me captivated up until that horrible ending!!

Shounen x Cinderella by Hanjae on January 14th, 2009, 9:18am

Note: This review only refers to the oneshot "Shounen x Cinderella," included in the volumes of Uwasa no Midori-kun.

All in all, this was a pretty bland oneshot. A boy forced to dress up as a girl is relatively unusual in gender-bender stories, but this was hardly used to good effect. It was simply a plot device that was there, instead of playing any key role in the story. Both characters were 2D, and didn't step outside the traditional "shy blushing girl" and "outgoing, charming guy" roles. The pairing didn't even bring an "aww" moment, because they simply met and bang! it's love. Contrary to what the description says, nothing in this oneshot heats up at all! Don't bother reading, it's a waste of time.

¡PERFECT MANGA! by Midori_chin on October 29th, 2008, 3:20am

My favourite manga and with reason, although master everything what Go Ikeyamada does, this is his better sleeve without a doubt, typical, if, but chauvinistic, NO, Midori must learn like is the people, who are not what pretends, or what pretended, with a PRECIOUS drawing, and an funny and sometimes dramatic history, LOVE Kazuma, with all my soul, and it seems to me with that in the end is Midori, although much people very well this displeased one, that does not mean that the other boy is going to be unfortunate nor nothing ...... enchants the innocence and beauty to me of Midori, the kindness and the beauty of my Kazuma, and….and ..... the form to redeem itself of Tsukasa? xDDDD you see that is to say….the only thing that is that east sleeve enchants to me, from the beginning until the end, that or that is to say, much after seeing them commentaries previous to mine, that only because Midori does not end the boy that wanted, or hate the manga (when, peculiarly, they loved before it) in aim, the manga to licensed in my country (Spain) and December podre to enjoy him, so I am glad very enormously,KAZUMA RULZ!

Don't waste time with this, go read other good gender benders instead. by Scriptwriter Mika on October 20th, 2008, 11:57am

Well, I'm typically a sucker for shoujo manga but this has got to be one of the worst ones I've read. I only read a few chapters, skipped a bunch, and skimmed through the recent updates hoping there'd be something redeeming in there, but alas, no.

The art for this manga might be cute, yes, but that's about the only point it has going for it. The plot line is they typical shoujo story with a love triangle, blah, blah, blah. Now, the mangaka tries to "spice" things up with some gender bender and fails miserably. Like many have said, the breasts are very noticeable and Midori is just very feminine herself. She has no backbone, only joining an all boys soccer team but she can still be "swooned" by Tsukasa. All characters are really just two dimensional. If you want a good bender gender manga, go read Hana Kimi, or even Power. Those are at least worthwhile.

Unprofessional, illogicall, non-persistent development by Ariel on October 19th, 2008, 10:01am

The drawing of this manga is very shoujo-like and somehow it creates pleasance for the readers. However I got a big issue with the plot. The mangaka tried in vain to build up some conflicts, misleaded the readers then finally popped in the worst-ending-ever out of nowhere. I find it extremely ridiculous and irritating when mangakas hopelessly seek for the so-called shocking/surprising/unpredictable stuff and amazingly enough, expect the readers to think it's interesting. So unprofessional and even annoying. When I read mangas, I don't long for those kind of stupidity. I want a logical and persistent development. It doesn't need to surprise the hell out of me.

One more thing, I absolutely hate the idea of turning your heart from one guy to another. Perhaps I'm outmoded, but I prefer consistency. I dislike the girl Midori in this manga. She always confuses herself with a mixture of vague feelings and this turns out to hurt both guys. Unlike Moe Kare, this time I'm for the bad boy Tsukasa, he's bold and has a strong personality. He might walk the bad path but he got clear reasons for it, and absolutely believed in what he's doing. In Moe Kare I supported the good guy Takara since his presence made me feel pleasant and somewhat relieved. But this time Kazuma appears to be a childishly romantic boy and I find his naive nature super annoying. Believe it or not his smiles give me chills. Errr...

To sum up about this series:
- Nice drawing
- Non-persistent and illogical plot
- A rare good character (in my opinion, Tsukasa. Okay okay, feel free to oppose)
- Unreasonable, out-of-nowhere ending. The worst ending ever.

2/10
