Description
From Mangascreener:

Icoro is the princess of a country of eternal night. Her kingdom is surrounded on all sides by huge mountain walls. Snow falls constantly, yet without the warmth of the sun's daylight, it will never melt, only pile up higher and higher. Her people are destined to die out. While she is a member of the ruling royal family, her parents have both disappeared, leaving her alone with her blind younger brother, and crafty politicians hold all the power behind the scenes, leaving her sovereign in name only. Her life has been an endless cycle of hardship, and she has never smiled, not once. In fact, she is missing that part of all humans that knows happiness.

Enter Shiro, a mysterious young boy whose identity is an enigma, even to himself. He is able to forget all but the most vital of information within seconds. All he knows is that he is looking for something called a "Hitogata." After Icoro and Shiro's chance meeting, they end up on a desperate search for the sun that will melt the snow and bring happiness to the kingdom once more.

Will they ever escape the grasp of the corrupt authorities? Will they even recognize what they're looking for, if they come across it? Will this "Hitogata" be the key to finding a sun to save their home? The answers lie ahead.

Confusing by Name-Undecided on December 4th, 2008, 5:13am

I can't tell who's coming or who's going. I like the dreamy quality art but I couldn't tell what was going on so I quit after 3 volumes. The long breaks between releases didn't really help either.

Pretty good manga by the author of SaiKano. Much more shounen-ey, since it ran in Sunday; a lot of delightful fantasy and whimsical characters.

Oh and this manga is still ongoing. Takahashi recently finished re-doing volume 6, and it should be released this (or the next?) month iirc. Still not over though.

Very Good Series by az060693 on July 13th, 2007, 11:42am

The art's awesome, so is the story. The story has action and all that kind of stuff, along with a deep intriguing story, but it also has that "slice-of-life" feel to it. The volume chapters are supposed to be different than that of the original magazine ones, the author redraws everything before the chapters are released into a volume, also, volume 3 chapter 2, the last one that SnoopyCool released, is 101 pages long.. o_O. There were supposed to be 40 chapters in the magazine, but the series is over now, 5 volumes.

Kimi no Kakera by Shily on December 5th, 2006, 7:29pm

Once I get used to the "sketchy" art, it eventually becomes uniquely beautiful. With only 2 vols so far, the story is really promising. Well, it's Takahashi Shin's after all. X>

very interesting by rita on October 28th, 2006, 10:54am

The art isn't that great, very sketchy. but after awhile, like other bad illustrations you get used to it. It was a bit confusing at first for me, but after awhile the plot starts to pick up and it becomes really interesting, but there's only about 2 vols. released so far so it might be too early to say much on the plot. But it does have a potential to become really great, it prolly will be i think ^__^.
