From DokiDoki:

High school freshman Shotaro Izumi has a problem. That problem is his childhood best friend, Makoto Natsuki. Natsuki lives the life of a prince. Ever since elementary school, his perfect looks and sweet disposition have won the hearts of everyone around him and attracted a gaggle of fans. But Natsuki's burst into fame has plunged Izumi into hell. Five years ago Izumi's offhanded criticism of his friend earned him the hatred of all the girls (and boys) in school, and it's only gotten worse since. His friendship with Natsuki was destroyed over the incident, and the ostracism has seriously warped his personality. The more Natsuki becomes a star, the more Izumi becomes a bitter social outcast. So when Natsuki asks Izumi one day what he can do to make up for everything, Izumi flippantly says "Go out with me" just to get a rise out of him. But to his shock, Natsuki takes him up on the offer—and seems to take it very seriously...

Shotaro Izumi hates Makoto Natsuki. He always has. Well...maybe not always. In elementary school, they were inseparable. But a misunderstanding turned the entire class against Izumi, and Natsuki rocketed into popularity. Now, they're fifteen, and Izumi is the most warped kid in school. A loner, sarcastic, and always spoiling for a fight with Natsuki's friends, his 'entourage.' Until one day, after school, Izumi issues a challenge to humiliate the Prince Charming of their class.

"Then go out with me."
"...Out where?"
The classic dumb response. "I'm saying let's enter a 'chaste, platonic courtship.'"

But what starts out as a joke, turns into something else when Natsuki takes Izumi seriously. Old friendship and habits are reawakened, but has something else developed in their years apart? Warped and anti-social Izumi has no idea what to do when the class star only has eyes for him.

It was so cute. I cried from the cuteness. No, really, I was actually disturbed by my visceral reaction to this book. The book just epitomizes young love for me; the doubt, the insecurity, the awkwardness, the miscommunication and misinterpretations, it was heart wrenching at times. You really can't help but project your own teenage experience onto the characters, and it makes you both love them and want to shake them for being so stupid!!

You have to download it but it came in pdf format (easy peasy)

A very simple, sweet story. I ended up reading it in one take, finishing at 4AM. bigrazz I loved Izumi, and his constant worries and complaints. This is on the border between shounen-ai and yaoi, so if you're looking for some quick smut, this isn't for you.

Can you say cute! The story follows adorable Shotaro and his childhood best friend Makoto as they fall in love. It's very enjoyable because we get to see them rekindle their friendship and become more than what they once used to be..I loved the plotsmile

Not my usual read, i generally prefer stories with older characters and more action, but this was quite adorable, a nice gentle read for a sunny day type bigrazz Very cute the way the characters come together, and their personalities make a nice collage. Its a little slow in places, and its a rather simplistic story with no real hiccups along the way, so its not going to hold everyone interest. But, its sweet, its fluffy, its full of sparkles and warm feelings XD and it has some nice smut towards the end. So, it balances out pretty well.

Usually I like stories that have a lot of physical action, but this was so sweet that I really loved it. You can really see the innocence of exploring first love in this novel and see how the characters express themselves because of their adolescence and the humor they bring to the story as they try to figure out thier own love predicaments.
