Out of some historical novel/manga I liked this series most. It's interesting and very entertaining. I liked the protagonist. He is strong, smart, creative and loyal to his master. Although I'm more used to manga with little or no violence against women. But I'm not really surprised, though.

...I can't stand the way women are depicted. It is the sole reason that this title could not get a "9" like Lone Wold and Cub even though historically is a very interesting read on the Sengoku era. It feels so sickening when you see a new female chacracter and you know right away that one way or another; someone would use her, abuse her and then discard her. Chauvinism is present in mostly all important figures in the story, to the most extreme extent one could imagine. To make matters worse, man is to woman as deep to shallow and wise to foolish. I admit that this is just an aspect of the story and it helps draw the ugliest picture of the warring period. Nevertheless, such extremities should not be shown throughout the whole span of the novel as not only it lessens the impact that it would otherwise have, it also succeeds in branding females as "tools" in the tales of deception.

Having said all that, I will still read to end. It is interesting enough to draw me in but the disgusted feeling will stay throughout.

Actually, it's like Bokko, if you had read it. historical fact, tactics, strategy, characters... all in all it;s in the line of San Go Ku novel (romance of 3 kingdoms). Very interesting to read.

Oh and many nudity scenes, as well, since it's true to the history of the period. Not hentai or ecchi as such, just nudity and sex.
