This manga is part of my childhood and i like it so much (still like it now). Though, i forget most of the story details by now.
Their love is so sweet and pure from beginning to the end. The story took place around WWII, where this couple start their journey together, the first half of the story focused more on the female protagonist; finding her past. While the later half focused more on the male protagonist; family stuff.
It ended with sweet happy ending after all.

The main chara is a strong girl and not annoying, which is a good point wink

I read quite a few titles from this mangaka and I can assure you that they all have good endings.
And her drawing style does look familiar with Chie sensei style, but if you look closely, they aren't the same. Actually I can tell they are very different apart from each other.
This one is a good one. I also recommend some others manga from this author such as Private Actress, Amakusa, etc...
They are all good mangas and worth your time to read.

It's a nice, old-school shoujo

Just try it. It's sweet and adventurous, and the 70's -80's drawing style is pretty too. Pace is good also.
Just keep in mind that the ball really starts rolling (the plot thickening, mystery and drama... you get the idea) by the end of the second volume ;).
