Description
Izaki always did well in life, no matter it was school or tennis. Nothing was handed to him; all was gained through effort and diligence. Because of his straightforward nature, he tended to clash with others. That was the way he knew and he extended his belief not only to himself but also the people around him. He was satisfied with his modest achievements, that is until he met the true genius, Hakamada...

Hakamada, the quiet prodigy insomuch as things just come easily to him. He doesn't have to work or study hard, and manages to come out on top which is frustrating for Izaki who realizes he'll never reach that level no matter how hard he tries.

At the school reunion after 8 years, Izaki finds himself drinking like old friends with his self proclaimed rival. Before he can even make sense of the strange situation, he found himself in a strange bed...

the artwork's good but i do agree that the synopsis provided is a little misleading - it's more like an adult remembering his high school rivalry but falling in love with his rival... GOOD WORK! a must read...

The synopsis is actually a little misleading- this is not a school life story, the plot takes place 8 years after that. After a school reunion Izaki finds himself in a relationship he never agreed to with Hakamada, the guy he hated so much in highschool. Hakamada is stone faced and unresponsive like he was back in school and it's interesting to see his awkward and sincere attempts to get close to Izaki who thinks he's just being used for sex. oh, and there's some good smut in there too.

To be honest, I personally found it was hard to start and I had to skip roughly the first 10 pages, but once I got into the story, I couldnt stop until I finished. And like many of her other stories, I wanted more!! >_<

I love this manga haha. First of all, awkward 'how did i get here and omg did we do it!?' moments are the best anyway, so this tickled me straight away, but even after that i really enjoyed reading it. The characters are funny, on the surface they seem almost like polar opposites but the deeper you get the more you see they're actually two peas in a pod, they just don't know it because they find it hard to understand each other XD I also love the contrast where one character who shows no expression changes is actually extremely emotional, whilst the one who is expressionate is sort of cold and emotionless inside. Its fun x3 I really enjoyed reading this manga, i just wish it were longer, i love the characters chemistry together.

I really felt like this one was different from all those other yaois Ive read. Izaki as the uke wasnt weak and small and he actually looked like well a guy. He tried to come up with a reason for his feelings for Hakamada and didnt make any excuses like "but im a guy' (that same old excuse gets tiresome). And their situation was really funny with stuff that made me laugh. The characters were extremely likeable-atleast for me they were. I dont know about other people but I loved it.

This is my favorite manga. I found this to be the perfect manga. A great blend of comedy, romance, and yaoi. I've read this several times and I still love it. The art is great and the sex and plot is well played. The thing that is really special is the drunk sex. It was great from beginning to end(and I usually hate endings cause they always made me sad). I loved the ending. It was really funny. It showed what happened when Izaki was drunk. That was my favorite part. This manga is really satisfying(hit all the right buttons).
The only ones who wouldn't like this are either extremely homophobic or absolutely against romance
or a robot(without emotion). I mean, really, it's really sweet. Well, there is a one in a million chance that people might not like it(some people might have found the couple to be annoying or unreasonable). To those who don't like it because it's unrealistic, I would recommend stop reading manga and watch the news or go outside, there, that's real life for you. Let me tell you, there are much much worse mangas out there(with really ugly art and story, totally ridiculous). And manga's not meant to be realistic. It is a big fantasy cooked up by the author/artist.
I wish there were more manga's like this.(I don't care about originality and if everything was original it wouldn't be original anymore) I hope those who read it would enjoy it as much as I did( if you didn't like it then why would you start reading it).

I sort of liked it. Sure, it's not the most original story, but it's a nice manga to read on a rainy day. It's sweet, and I like the characters. Aisaretaino reminds me of Special A in a way..It's like the yaoi, smutty version.

I can't really pin point what I didn't like about this manga... other than that I just really couldn't feel for the characters what-so-ever. I wouldn't have cared either way if they had gotten together or not... I really didn't feel that connection between the two. And I really couldn't see 'sparks fly' when they were together. The manga just was lacking in... flavor? I guess... the best way to describe this manga is like eating sugarless chocolate ice cream... it isn't like it's crap... but it isn't anything like the real thing: yummy, creamy, sugary, fatty, chocolate ice cream... yeah... that's the only way I can describe this manga.

I'm not sure why this is rated so well, honestly. The story drags, the characters aren't realistic in their feelings or actions and are pretty one dimensional, and the whole thing evoked absolutely zero emotion or amusement from me. It's Far from the worst thing I've ever read, but it was definitely just average and not something I'd be interested in reading again.
